摘要： The subject invention is directed to a new and useful coupling system for connecting a tube set to a trocar. More particularly, the system includes a trocar connector having no more than two coaxial flow passages formed therein including an inner flow passage and an outer flow passage. The inner flow passage is defined by an inner annular wall and the outer flow passage is defined between the inner annular wall and an outer annular wall. A dual lumen tube set is included with a first tube having a first diameter and a second tube having a second diameter that is greater than the diameter of the first tube. The system further includes a coupling including a generally cylindrical body having a first end portion configured to mate with the two coaxial flow passages of the trocar connector and a second end portion configured for attachment to the two tubes of the dual lumen tube set.

摘要： A trocar assembly includes a trocar including an elongated tubular member extending between a distal end configured to be inserted into a surgical site and a proximal end including a housing configured for introduction of surgical instruments into the tubular member. The housing includes a pair of opposed latch receptacles. An obturator is assembled into the tubular member of the trocar. The obturator includes an elongated obturator body extending from a trocar cover to an opposed obturator tip. The trocar cover includes a rim for engaging the housing of the trocar. The trocar cover includes a pair of opposed latches extending radially inward from the rim, wherein the latches are releasably latched to the latch receptacles of the trocar. The trocar cover includes a compliant mechanism operatively connected to release the latches from the latch receptacles.

摘要： A surgical gas delivery system is disclosed that includes a device housing supporting a control unit and a filter interface having a seat for receiving a filter cartridge, the filter cartridge having a filter housing defining an interior reservoir, wherein sensors are coupled to the control unit for sensing a level of liquid within the reservoir of the filter cartridge to prevent contamination of the device, and wherein a set of blocking valves are provided in the device housing for interacting with the filter cartridge when it is received in the filter interface to control flow through suction and pressure lines of the device, and wherein the control unit is adapted to recognize a characteristic of the filter cartridge received in the filter interface.

摘要： An access device adapted and configured to be inserted through a natural biological orifice, and related surgical methods are provided. The access device includes a body, a nozzle means and means for delivering a pressurized flow of fluid to the nozzle means. The body is configured and dimensioned to be inserted through a natural bodily orifice and has proximal and distal end portions and defines at least one lumen therethrough to accommodate passage of one or more surgical instruments. The nozzle means is operatively associated with the body for directing pressurized fluid into the lumen to develop a pressure differential in an area within a region within the lumen to form a fluid seal around the one or more surgical instruments passing therethrough.

The pressure-controlled valve is in fluid communication with an insufflation gas supply, the supply conduit and the return conduit and is adapted and configured to respond to pressure control signals to adjust position and thereby system flow parameters, to reduce entrainment of air from the surrounding environment, and to increase the concentration of insufflation gas in an operative space, and/or to reduce an overpressure condition in the operative space.
