    Abstract: The invention described herein is that of an outdoor drain filter useful for maintaining the operability of an outdoor drain despite the accumulation of debris that would otherwise obstruct the outdoor drain, resulting in flood prevention of surrounding areas. The outdoor drain filter of the present invention is placed above and around an existing outdoor drain or may be integral with a drain cover or drain reservoir. The outdoor drain filter comprises upper and side filtration means allowing the free flow of water therethrough. The outdoor drain filter further comprises a diverter comprising at least one air vent and at least one lateral pipe that defines a maximum water level to which water will accumulate around the outdoor drain before being diverted into the drain through the diverter. The outdoor drain filter may a manufactured unit or of modular construction.

    Abstract: The present invention relates in general terms to a process for preparing alkyl methacrylates, comprising as steps: providing an acetone cyanohydrin by a process according to one of the preceding claims; contacting the acetone cyanohydrin with an inorganic acid to obtain a methacrylamide; contacting the methacrylamide with an alcohol in the presence of an inorganic acid in a reactor to obtain an alkyl methacrylate; continuously discharging at least a portion of the alkyl methacrylate from the reactor into a distillation column as a vapor stream; the discharge being effected by feeding a discharge stream comprising steam into the reactor, to an apparatus for preparing alkyl methacrylates, to a process for preparing polymers based at least partly on alkyl methacrylates, to the use of the alkyl methacrylates obtainable by the process according to the invention in chemical products, and to chemical products based on alkyl methacrylates obtainable by the process according to the invention.

    Abstract: The present invention is a planting device design for multiple plant containers. Said planting device incorporates a reservoir and a wick for each plant container. When placing the plant container through the lid, a flap is opened. Said flap positions the plant container so that the wick is in contact with the water, but the container containing the soil is not in contact with the water. This reduces the possibility of rot. Said flap also closes when the plant container is removed thereby preventing pollutants (e.g. insects, leaves) along with pets or light from communicating with the water.
