Abstract:
The present invention is a single ply building membrane comprising a single ply membrane with a base and a cap layer and a top and bottom surface, having a predetermined printed design on the cap layer, and a predetermined texture on at least one surface of the membrane. The membrane may comprise compounds selected from the group consisting of thermoplastics and thermosets. The printed and textured designs may be of a laid roof or siding. The invention includes a method of installing a single ply building membrane on a building surface and a method of manufacturing such membrane.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for radially compressing bodily tissue and performing medical procedures from a selected one of a plurality of circumferential positions and angles, a selected one of a plurality of different elevations and elevational angles. Some embodiments include a tissue-compression fixture having members that are configured to be moved to radially compress bodily tissue such that each of a plurality of areas of biological tissue are exposed between the plurality of members, and wherein the fixture is compatible with use in an MRI machine in operation; an actuator having a receiver for a medical-procedure probe; and a computer system operatively coupled to the actuator to move the probe. The computer receives user commands, and based on the commands, moves the actuator to a selected one of a plurality of different positions around the tissue-compression fixture and then extends the probe into the patient.
Abstract:
Parity Update Footprints (PUFPs) are kept on the disk drives themselves (rather than in nonvolatile RAM) so that the PUFPs will move along with the RAID arrays and data they protect. This permits effective detection of and recovery from many unexpected-power-loss events, and certain other types of failures, even in a clustered-adapter configuration or with a standalone adapter that has no nonvolatile RAM or only a little nonvolatile RAM. Desirably, many Set PUFP and Clear PUFP operations can be coalesced into each write to the block on the disk which contains the PUFPs, thereby improving system performance.
Abstract:
A yearbook system is provided. The yearbook system provides a single, extensive resource to plan, create, educate about, sell, and distribute yearbooks. The system further provides an integrated yearbook system management and yearbook production system to enable the production of the yearbook to a printed output. A yearbook server hosts a client site and a client database. The client site is enables the school to plan, create, sell and distribute a yearbook. Further, they system may be used to create the yearbook online. A production server hosts a production database synchronizes with the yearbook server, providing images to the client for use in creating the yearbook, and accepting completed created pages submitted by the school from the yearbook server. The production server translates the created pages into the format to proceed through the regular preparation for production of the yearbook.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a non-asphaltic peel-and-stick roofing membrane for quicker and easier installation to a roof substrate, as well as a method of manufacturing the membrane.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for guiding an operator in the alignment of the wheels of an automotive vehicle which has been either modified from a original manufacturer configuration, or for which no previously established alignment settings are known. Initially, the operator identifies known information about the vehicle and selects a desired characteristic of the vehicle for which the vehicle alignment is to be optimized. A set of initial alignment settings are presented to the operator, based upon the selected characteristic for the vehicle, and the vehicle alignment is adjusted thereto. One or more subsequent measurements of the vehicle are acquired. Alignment adjustments to further improve the selected characteristic, identified in response to the vehicle measurements are presented to the operator. The process of alignment adjustment, measurement, and presented adjustments is repeated until an optimal alignment setting for the selected characteristic is reached.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method, program product and system for distributing a licensed digital product. The invention involves assigning a unique identifier to the digital product as well as each copy of the product. The invention also assigns unique identifiers to all distributors of the product. When a copy of the digital product is sold from the manufacturer to an end user through the distributors, the unique identifier of that copy is matched with the unique identifiers of all distributors who were involved in supplying the copy to the end user. After validating the purchase of the digital product a unique activation code is issued for that copy, which allows the end user to utilize the features of the product. The distributors in the supply chain that were involved in selling that particular copy of the digital product are then paid according to a pre-determined schedule.
Abstract:
An apparatus for dispensing liquids on roofing membranes and surfaces for cleaning and priming areas for the application of roofing accessories and seams. Also disclosed is a method of applying primers and cleaners to roofing membranes using the liquid dispensing apparatus.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for designing and fabricating a pantomesh. The pantomesh includes a plurality of pantomesh elements each including a pairs of links connected to one another by a revolute joint at points between their ends. Each of a plurality of the pantomesh elements is connected using spherical joints to a plurality of neighboring pantomesh elements, wherein a first line that extends along one side of a first pantomesh element forms a first variable angle with a second line that extends along an opposite side of the first pantomesh element. In some embodiments, at least some of the pantomesh elements of the pantomesh are not isosceles trapezoidal elements. In some embodiments, the pantomesh is used to compress breast tissue during an MRI procedure. In some embodiments, the pantomesh is connected to one or more actuators that facilitate remote control of the amount of compression provided.
