    摘要： An instrument access device comprises a base which is mounted to a proximal ring assembly of a retractor. A first, second and third connector sleeves connect first, second and third seal assemblies to a connector base. The connector sleeves are of a laterally flexible and longitudinally rigid material. At least some of the first, second and third seal assemblies comprise a lipseal through which an instrument is inserted and a second seal having a passageway through which the instrument is insertable. At least one of the seal assemblies has a reducer cap which has a further lipseal. To insert large diameter instruments the cap is removed. To insert smaller diameter instruments the cap is in place. The access device has two insufflation/desufflation ports.

    摘要： A cannula (1) comprises a distal hollow tubular section (2), a proximal instrument insertion section (3), a lip seal (4) for sealingly engaging with an instrument shaft (5), and a duck-bill seal (10) also for sealingly engaging with the instrument shaft (5). The lip seal (4) is movably coupled to the proximal section (3) by a coupling section, provided in the form of a flexible tubular sheath section (6). The distal section (2) defines an access channel (7) for extension of the instrument shaft (5) therethrough. The proximal section (3) has a proximal opening (8) through which the instrument shaft (5) may be inserted into the proximal section (3). The distal end of the flexible section (6) is fixedly attached to the proximal section (3), and the proximal end of the flexible section (6) is fixedly attached to the lip seal (4). The flexible section (6) facilitates relative movement between the lip seal (4) and the proximal section (3) to accommodate lateral movement of the instrument (5) while maintaining the seal between the lip seal (4) and the instrument (5).

An instrument may be extended through the seal (302) to access the wound interior through the retracted wound opening in a sealed manner.

The medical device (16) comprises a body portion (9), a gripping member (11), and a rigid arm member (10) to connect the gripping member (11) to the body portion (9). A medical instrument (14) may be then positioned in a “C”-shaped opening (21) of the gripping member (11). The location and/or orientation of the medical instrument (14) may be adjusted by adjusting the arm member (10) and/or the gripping member (11).

    摘要： A device to aid advancement of a colonoscope through the colon of a patient comprises an elongate body defining a colonoscope lumen. The body provides a fluid tight seal to the colonoscope. The body has an anchor to releasably anchor the interior wall of the colon to the device to enable a colonoscope to be more easily advanced. The anchor may be provided by suction apertures through which a suction is applied to draw the colon into anchored engagement with the body. The anchor may be provided by a balloon and/or foam based anchoring systems may be provided.
