摘要: Active Energy Facilitated Drug Delivery platform for delivering therapeutics to biological tissue through electrical conductivity. This delivery method is comprised of an elastic alloy to encase a balloon or drug deposition, where the alloy acts to emit an electric field in aiding and actively allowing the pharmaceutical agent to have enhanced permeation, binding and internalization to cells and the biological matrix. A therapeutic agent is deposited onto a balloon to embody the drug deposition, reservoir whereby the electrical field facilitates the active transfer of a pharmaceutical agent to the target tissue is described.

摘要: A thrombectomy catheter system can include a catheter configured for insertion into vasculature of a patient. The system includes a pressure chamber configured to isolate an internal volume from a surrounding environment. The system can include an infusion container including an infusion fluid therein. The pressure chamber can receive the infusion container. A drive unit can pressurize a working fluid in the pressure chamber with the infusion container received in the pressure chamber. In an example, pressurizing of the working fluid correspondingly compresses the infusion container to pressurize the infusion fluid and transfer the infusion fluid to the catheter. In an example, the infusion fluid is isolated from the working fluid by the infusion container when the working fluid is pressurized in the pressure chamber.

摘要: A method of delivering a drug in a vessel includes positioning an inflatable balloon that is located at a distal end of an ultrasonic device within a lumen of the vessel, the inflatable balloon being deflated and coated with at least one drug; inflating the inflatable balloon; and transmitting a vibration to the distal end of the ultrasonic device to dislodge the drug from the inflated inflatable balloon and deliver the drug to an interior portion of the vessel.

摘要: An angioplasty catheter comprises a catheter body having a balloon or other radially expandable shell at its distal end. A non-axial external structure is carried over the shell and scores a stenosed region in a blood vessel when the balloon is inflated therein. The catheter has an attachment structure disposed between the catheter body and the balloon to accommodate foreshortening and rotation of the external structure as the balloon is expanded. The external structure may be part of a helical cage structure which floats over the balloon.

The dilation member includes a projection portion, which is a part of the dilation member protruding in a radial direction due to the elastic member disposed at a position where the inner surfaces of the dilation member face each other. A material of the elastic member is configured to be a material, which is further stretched than a material of the dilation member in a circumferential direction when the dilation member dilates.

摘要: Disclosed systems, methods, and devices may include a system for removing a kidney stone from a ureter. The system may have an inner shaft extending coaxially within an outer shaft, a stone retention member shaft having a stone retention member and extending coaxially within the inner shaft, a wall protection member coupled to the outer shaft and the inner shaft, and a handle coupled with proximal ends of the outer shaft, the inner shaft, and the stone retention member shaft. The handle may include an eversion mechanism coupled to the inner shaft and configured to actuate the inner shaft, thereby everting the wall protection member to form a pocket adapted to receive a kidney stone. The system may also include a retention member mechanism coupled to the stone retention member shaft and configured to actuate the stone retention member shaft.

摘要: A stiffened balloon apparatus for use in angioplasty. Elongate stiffening members disposed longitudinally on the expandable balloon stiffen the membrane of said balloon. The stiffening members possess sufficient rigidity to resist local deformation of the wall of said expandable balloon upon expansion of said balloon and upon contact of said stiffening member with a local deformation within an anatomical passage or target lumen. Projections and/or raised surfaces on a stiffening member may engage, incise, crush, fracture, or pierce occlusions and/or the inner surface of the passage or target lumen in which it is being operated. Associated method for use to incise the inner surface of a target lumen or incise the stenosis that may be located therein.
