摘要: Microlaser based dye doped polymeric resonators are provided as well as pharmaceutical formulations containing the microlaser based dye doped polymeric resonators, methods of making thereof, and methods of use thereof for monitoring and/or stimulating electrical activity in a brain of a subject in need thereof. The microlaser based dye doped polymeric resonators can include a particle having a spherical core containing one or more fluorescent dyes dispersed within a polymer matrix, wherein the polymer matrix has an index of refraction of about 1.2 or greater; an outer surface surrounding the spherical core; and a gold nanoparticle, wherein the gold nanoparticle is on the outer surface, is dispersed within the spherical core, or both. The fluorescent dyes can include a voltage sensitive fluorescent dye.

摘要: Provided is an insert adapter for direct ink writing printers (DIW) and methods of fiber alignment in direct ink writing. The insert adapter is sized to fit snugly inside a print barrel DIW 3D printer. The adapter includes channels. The DIW printer with insert adapter, can be used in a passive method for microfiber alignment in DIW printing. The method includes feeding a non-Newtonian ink including microfibers through the print barrel such that the ink flows into the channels of the insert adapter before exiting through a print nozzle, causing the microfibers to align along the direction of ink flow.

摘要: Embodiments provide a skimming detection device including a one or more sensors configured to detect characteristics that may be used to detect the presence of a skimming device. Sensor data generated by the sensor(s) may be compared to reference sensor data to detect the presence of a skimming device. An output that indicates whether a skimming device is not present, likely present (e.g., the consumer or user should assume the scanned device contains a skimmer or has otherwise been compromised), or confirmed to be present may be generated and presented to a user. Such capabilities may enable user to quickly scan a device (e.g., an ATM, a fuel pump, etc.) to determine whether a skimming device is present and take action to mitigate the use of any detected skimming devices.

摘要: The present application relates to methods for depositing two-dimensional materials (e.g., MoS2, WS2, MoTe2, MoSe2, WSe2, BN, BN—C composite, and the like) onto lithium electrodes. Battery systems incorporating lithium metal electrodes coated with two-dimensional materials are also described. Methods may include intercalating the two-dimensional materials to facilitate flow of Lithium ions in and out of the lithium electrode. Two-dimensional material coated lithium electrodes provide for high cycling stability and significant performance improvements. Systems and methods further provide electrodes having carbon structures (e.g., carbon nanotubes (CNTs), graphene, porous carbon, free-standing 3D CNTs, etc.) with sulfur coatings.

摘要: The present invention includes a method for identifying a patient response to treatment for Alzheimer's Disease with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) or an acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor drug comprising: obtaining a blood or serum sample from the patient; determining the presence of a proinflammatory endophenotype in the blood or serum sample of the patient; using the proinflammatory endophenotype to detect treatment response (a responder, a stable, a non-responder or an adverse responder); and treating the patient with the NSAID or the AChE inhibitor if the patient is in the responder or the stable treatment response phenotype group; or preventing a treatment with the NSAID or the AChE inhibitor if the patient is a non-responder or an adverse responder.
