Abstract:
The present invention presents a filtration system with an integrated manifold valve. The filtration system employs only one pivotal component—the pivoting of the manifold. The manifold valve includes a dual aperture design for a two-fold alignment scheme with the ingress and egress lines of the fluid source. The invention is free of multi-component rotary valve with internal, rotatable parts, or an activation component, such as a handle, for initiating the rotary valve, allowing the user to rotate the rotational components thereof. The reduction in moveable components in this design reduces the likelihood of failure and increases the reliability of the filtration system.
Abstract:
A chair having a frame with one of a seat component and a backrest component, the seat component having a base member and a seat member while the backrest component include a base member and a backrest member where one of the seat and backrest component base member is connected to the frame. Complementary clip means on the one of the seat and backrest component base member allow the member to cooperate with the or each respective one of seat and backrest member, whereby either the respective seat member or backrest member can be clipped to the seat or backrest component base member. A toggle joint provides a snap over type connection effective when the one of the seat and backrest component base member and the one of the respective seat and backrest member are clipped together to cause one of the base member and the seat/backrest member to be in tension and the other member to be in compression when the two members of the component are clipped together.
Abstract:
A device suitable for removing material from a living being is provided, featuring an infusate pump, and an aspiration pump, both powered by a motor. The aspiration pump and infusate pump preferably feature a helical pumping mechanism, and operate at a high rate of rotation, thereby ensuring adequate pumping performance and flexibility. Additionally, a narrow crossing profile is maintained, ensuring that the device may reach more tortuous regions of the vasculature. In one embodiment, the system comprises a wire-guided mono-rail catheter with a working head mounted on a flexible portion of the catheter that can laterally displace away from the guide wire to facilitate thrombus removal. The working head may be operated to separate and move away from the guide wire to come within a closer proximity of the obstructive material to more effectively remove it from the vessel.
Abstract:
The present invention involves bilayers that include cesium tungsten oxide as an infrared absorbing agent. Cesium tungsten oxide can be incorporated into one or more layers of a bilayer. Bilayers of the present invention incorporating cesium tungsten oxide are effective at blocking infrared radiation and, surprisingly, the cesium tungsten oxide agents do not degrade unacceptably over time.
Abstract:
The present invention includes polymer films that comprise lanthanum hexaboride and an epoxy agent. The lanthanum hexaboride and epoxy agent can be incorporated into or onto a polymer film in any suitable manner. The addition of an epoxy agent surprisingly provides a stabilization effect to the lanthanum hexaboride, which allows for the production of polymer films that advantageously absorb infrared radiation and resist environmental degradation. Polymer films thus produced have a significant number of applications, for example, but not limited to, display devices, protective coverings, and glazing film applications.
Abstract:
The present invention is in the field of polymer sheets and multiple layer glass panels having adjustable tint, and, more specifically, the present invention is in the field of polymer sheets and multiple layer glass panels comprising agents that cause a change in light transmission properties when subjected to an electric field.
Abstract:
A storage container includes a lid having a lid panel and an arm extending from the lid panel, the arm including a detent having a first surface parallel to the lid panel and a second surface having a taper extending at least a portion between the first surface and a distal end of the arm, and a base configured to receive a disc, the base having a base panel and a member extending from the base panel, the member having an opening defined by an interior surface having a portion thereof parallel to the base panel, the first surface of the detent engaging the interior surface portion of the member when the storage container is closed. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or the meaning of the claims.
Abstract:
A chair or seat, for use in theaters and/or stadiums, having a back member, a seat member, an armrest construction, a pivot assembly comprising an aperture on an arm or frame of the chair, a pivot member associated with a chair seat, and a bearing member which can act as a bearing for the rotation and a buffer at the extremes of the rotation whilst ultimately retaining the pivot assembly together, and a counterbalance to enable rotation about a pivot point, whereby the rotational movement is controlled. The chairs are made from a moulded plastics material with core recesses to impart substantial rigidity to the chair, and can readily be connected to a surface such as a beam, a riser or a tread via a connection means which is connected to the back of the chair.

Push-on hose construction for a self-gripping connection with a barbed nipple or other push in fitting end. The hose has an innermost core tube which exhibits a reduced coefficient of friction for easier insertion of the fitting end. Such core tube may be extruded or otherwise formed of thermoplastic polyurethane or other resin which is dulled or otherwise incompatibilized by the addition of an immiscible such as nonpolar polyolefin homopolymer, copolymer, or mixture thereof.
