摘要: An improved process for removal of particulate matter having airborne potential. The process includes applying a foam to the particulate matter in a particulate matter area to prevent the particulate matter from becoming airborne. The particulate matter area may then be removed, prior to the foam draining, and encased in a storage device.

摘要: A woven textile fabric and seam is disclosed for joining dryer fabrics and the like papermaking clothing constructed of multiply woven fabric belting wherein each of the ends of the belting is separated into continuous woven superposed plys permitting insertion and securing of seam webbing between the plys at each end of the belting. The seam webbing is illustrated sandwiched between the separated plys and completely enclosed therein when the plys and webbing are secured together so that interruption of the otherwise continuous belting is minimized. Having affixed the webbing at ends of the woven fabric in this manner, pintle loops may be interlaced and fastened securely together by the insertion of pintle material. One of the separated plys may be advantageously woven to provide pintle loops when folded upon itself.

摘要: A pressure stabilizer for use in hydrocarbon storage facilities which acts as an orifice and also permits the pressure in the system to be stabilized when it reaches a given amount. The stabilizer has a casing with a valve seat and a heavy ball located above the valve seat so that the ball is forcibly displaced upwards when the pressure in the hydrocarbon storage facility reaches an amount sufficient to lift the weight of the ball. Support members extending from the side of the valve seat suspend the ball away from the valve seat a sufficient distance to form the appropriate sized orifice and to minimize contact of the ball to the casing so that the possibility of the stabilizer being frozen closed is minimized.

摘要: A plug gauge for testing the mouth of a container includes a spring carried by a support, a rod having one end coupled to the spring, and a gauge plug coupled to the other end of the rod. A control mechanism supports the rod and is coupled to an electric motor. Motion of the control mechanism by the motor lowers the rod and plug into the container mouth under force of the spring, and thereafter lifts the rod and plug out of the container mouth. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the spring takes the form of an air spring. A stripper is operatively coupled to the control mechanism in the preferred embodiment of the invention for lowering against the container mouth, as the rod and plug are lowered by the spring and the motor, for holding the container mouth as the rod and plug are lifted from the container mouth. At least one sensor is coupled to the spring in the preferred embodiment of the invention, and is responsive to position of the end of the rod for determining penetration of the plug into the container mouth.
