摘要： The present invention provides a method of doing cognitive diagnosis of mental skills, medical and psychiatric diagnosis of diseases and disorders, and in general the diagnosing of latent properties of a set of objects, usually people, for which multiple pieces of binary (dichotomous) information about the objects are available, for example testing examinees using right/wrong scored test questions. Settings where the present invention can be applied but are not limited to include classrooms at all levels, web-based instruction, corporate in-house training, large scale standardized tests, and medical and psychiatric settings. Uses include but are not limited to individual learner feedback, learner remediation, group level educational assessment, and medical and psychiatric treatment.

摘要： An opaque cup has an inside measuring system having at least first and second scales viewable inside the cup. The first scale is preferably located in a bottom half of the volume of the cup and the second scale is located in a top half of the volume of the cup. Some cups may just have the first or second scale, some may have both, whether they be linearly aligned, or disposed angularly relative to one another, such as 180 degrees from one another.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a water heater which includes a water container; an element located to heat water in the water container; a sensor located to sense temperature proximate the element; and a controller connected to the element and the sensor, the controller being programmed to energize the element with at least one electrical pulse over a predetermined time interval, comparing temperature information received from the sensor with a predetermined temperature, and disengaging the element in the event that the temperature received from the sensor is greater than a predetermined temperature for the predetermined time interval.

摘要： A is adapted to form a flanged ring including an elongated curved extension from an elongated straight flange with an elongated base and an elongated protrusion extending from the elongated base. The device comprises a first pair of opposed surfaces adapted to compress an elongated protrusion of a flange to increase a length of the elongated protrusion. The device further includes a second pair of opposed surfaces adapted to compress an elongated base of a flange to increase the length of one portion of the elongated base relative to another portion of the elongated base. A flanged ring is also provided that is formed by process comprising the steps of providing a device including a first pair of opposed surfaces and a second pair of opposed surfaces. Still further a method of making a flanged ring includes the step of feeding the elongated straight flange with respect to the device such that a first pair of opposed surfaces compress an elongated protrusion to increase the length of the elongated protrusion and a second pair of opposed surfaces compress an elongated base to increase the length of one portion of the elongated base relative to another portion of the elongated base.

摘要： A remote transaction system for contactless payment and user identification at dispensers, payment terminals, kiosks, or points-of-sale is provided. The remote transaction system comprises a compact assembly, a control system, and communications electronics. The compact assembly is adapted to be attached to a surface, such as a bezel, and comprises at least one antenna. Also, the compact assembly may comprise antennas operating at different frequencies and at least one audio or visual element. Further, antenna arrays may be formed comprising a second antenna arrangement separate from the compact assembly and coupled to the surface. The compact assembly and/or a second antenna arrangement may comprise a tuning element, such as a tuning ring. The communications electronics are adapted to wirelessly communicate with at least one remote communications device and provide wireless communications to the control system for processing. A method for attaching the compact assembly to a surface is also provided.
