    Abstract: A method of synthesizing polyethyleneimine with a substantially linear backbone is disclosed. The method comprises exposing ethylenediamine dissolved in a solution to electromagnetic radiation for a sufficient time to polymerize the ethylenediamine and thereby resulting in formation of polyethylenimine with a substantially linear backbone in the solution. A method of synthesizing a homopolymer with a substantially linear backbone is also disclosed. In addition, a composition comprising polyethylenimine synthesized from the aforementioned method is disclosed, in which the polyethylenimine comprises a backbone conformation that is substantially linear and has a distribution of molecular weights (MW) ranging from 1 kDa to 200 kDa; and the polyethyleneimine has no cytotoxicity at a concentration of 12 μg/ml.

The base includes a sliding groove extending in a first direction and a first abutting portion. The clamp assembly includes a first jaw portion and a second jaw portion. In an exemplary system, the phone appliance is used to transmit to a control center information related to the user of the phone appliance, such as interests and buying habits, and queries for receiving additional information for various advertised products and services. The control center transmits the queries to the appropriate vendors for providing the user with additional information. Other functions and features are provided to the phone appliance, such as being able to download e-mail messages stored within or received by the computer.
