Abstract:
A method of synthesizing polyethyleneimine with a substantially linear backbone is disclosed. The method comprises exposing ethylenediamine dissolved in a solution to electromagnetic radiation for a sufficient time to polymerize the ethylenediamine and thereby resulting in formation of polyethylenimine with a substantially linear backbone in the solution. A method of synthesizing a homopolymer with a substantially linear backbone is also disclosed. In addition, a composition comprising polyethylenimine synthesized from the aforementioned method is disclosed, in which the polyethylenimine comprises a backbone conformation that is substantially linear and has a distribution of molecular weights (MW) ranging from 1 kDa to 200 kDa; and the polyethyleneimine has no cytotoxicity at a concentration of 12 μg/ml.

A centering vice is provided, including: a base, a clamp assembly and an adjusting assembly. The base includes a sliding groove extending in a first direction and a first abutting portion. The clamp assembly includes a first jaw portion and a second jaw portion. The adjusting assembly includes a threaded rod, a positioning member and two adjusting members. The threaded rod includes a first threaded segment, a second threaded segment and a positioning portion. The positioning member is immovably connected to the positioning portion and disposed between the two adjusting members, and the two adjusting members respectively have a second abutting portion abutted against the first abutting portion. The two adjusting members are movable relative to the base in a second direction lateral to the first direction to urge the positioning member to move in the first direction.

Provided is a kit for detecting MET fusion, including MET gene fusion and MET exon 14 skipping. The kit includes a set of MET fusion-specific primer pairs and a set of MET fusion-specific probes. Also provided is a method for detecting MET fusion, including generating an amplified target cDNA to hybridize with the set of MET fusion-specific probes in a single reaction and detecting the probe-bound product to identify all possible MET fusions in a biological sample.

A phone appliance and method of use are provided where the phone appliance can be used to make VoIP communications calls. In a preferred embodiment, the phone appliance includes an RF connection for connecting to a computer or other computing device for facilitating the placement of the VoIP communications calls. The phone appliance further includes a display or portal for depicting advertisements provided by various advertisers. The advertisements provided can be used to defray all or part of the cost associated with making VoIP communications calls. The portal can also be used to communicate with businesses for ordering products. such as ordering a pizza, and to perform various services, such as purchasing stocks. In an exemplary system, the phone appliance is used to transmit to a control center information related to the user of the phone appliance, such as interests and buying habits, and queries for receiving additional information for various advertised products and services. The control center transmits the queries to the appropriate vendors for providing the user with additional information. Other functions and features are provided to the phone appliance, such as being able to download e-mail messages stored within or received by the computer.

The present invention discloses a display panel substrate assembly and an apparatus and method for forming a display panel substrate assembly, wherein the substrate assembly includes a first substrate and a second substrate. At least one of the first substrate and the second substrate is optically clear. The method includes the steps of screen printing a non-sag adhesive composition onto a surface of the first substrate, bringing the non-sag adhesive composition into contact with a surface of the second substrate in an environment having a pressure of less than or equal to about 5000 pascals, and curing the non-sag adhesive composition to yield an adhesive layer. The non-sag adhesive composition is of a type which is optically clear after curing.

A sensing method and device for sensing the position of an object are provided. The sensing device comprises a light source for generating a plane light, and a sensor unit disposed at one side of the light source. The sensing method comprises driving the light source to generate the plane light, forming a reflective light distribution by the object reflecting the plane light; and estimating a relative distance between the object and the light source according to the reflective light distribution.

A testing device utilized in a testing apparatus includes a top guiding board having top penetrating openings, a bottom guiding board disposed at one side of the top guiding board and having bottom penetrating openings, and elastic contact structures disposed between the top guiding board and the bottom guiding board. A testing device offset (represented by d2) exists between the top guiding board and the bottom guiding board. Each elastic contact structure has a tip section, a body section, and a tail section in sequence. The elastic contact structures pass through the top penetrating openings and the bottom penetrating openings respectively Each elastic contact structure has an elastic contact structure offset between the tip section and the tail section. Each elastic contact structure has a target elastic contact structure offset (represented by d1), in which d1 and d2 satisfy the following equation: d2=d1±50˜200 μm.

An electronic device includes a case having an opening, an electronic circuit and a dust cover. The electronic circuit is disposed in the case and includes a circuit board, a switch, and an expansion card slot. The switch and the expansion card slot are electrically connected at the circuit board. The opening exposes the switch and the expansion card slot. The expansion card slot includes an electrical connector used for electrical connection with an expansion card. The dust cover is detachably disposed at the opening. The dust cover includes a cap portion, a press portion and an elastic portion. The cap portion closes the opening. The press portion faces the switch. The elastic portion is respectively connected to the cap portion and the press portion, so the press portion is capable of moving relative to the cap portion and hence has a trigger position and a release position.
