摘要: A method for the automatic examination of knowledge system hierarchies is disclosed. A target TMK hierarchy is represented as a plurality of records in a database. A second TMK hierarchy (a “critic”) is constructed of tasks, subtasks, methods, procedures and actions. The critic hierarchy includes actions that retrieve and examine at least one record of the database representing the target hierarchy. The examination of the record provides a result. The result is of the form of a modification of the processing within the critic hierarchy or of the form of a report or a modification of the target hierarchy's elements, namely, tasks, methods, procedures, actions, class structures, or the relationship between the elements. The report is in a form suitable for printing or displaying on a computer monitor. The modification of the target hierarchy is of the form of writing one or more records to the database representing the target hierarchy. The invention also discloses software that implements the method of the invention.

摘要: An optical sight includes an optical train having an optical path therethrough, an entrance, and an exit. A reticle is visible through the exit of the optical path. An unpowered reticle illumination source has a first light source that illuminates the reticle responsive to the level of ambient light, and a second light source that illuminates the reticle with an unpowered light source. The reticle illumination source preferably has a scintillation material positioned so that ambient light entering the ambient-light receiver is incident upon the scintillation material, whereupon the scintillation material responsively emits secondary light. A light-gathering prism receives the secondary light and has a diffusing surface disposed to illuminate the reticle using the secondary light. An unpowered light source is positioned to emit light through the diffusing surface to be incident upon the reticle. The unpowered light source may be a tritium light source.

摘要: A flexible panel having an window aperture with a clear covering and a cooperating pocket behind the window for holding an information containing placard. One embodiment utilizes a magnetic frame for attachment to a surface. Another embodiment uses an angled bracket attached to a stadium seat to tilt the placard toward the viewer in the seat behind.

摘要: The invention provides a variety of reagents for use in the diagnosis and management of cancer, particularly breast cancer. cDNA microarray technology was used to identify genes whose expression profile across a large group of tumor samples correlates with that of cytokeratin 5 and cytokeratin 17, markers for basal cells of the normal mammary lactation gland. The invention demonstrates that tumors that express cytokeratin 5/6 and/or 17 have a poor prognosis relative to tumors overall. The invention provides basal marker genes and their expression products and uses of these genes for diagnosis of cancer and for identification of therapies for cancer. In particular, the invention provides basal marker genes including cadherin3, matrix metalloproteinase 14, and cadherin EGF LAG seven-pass G-type receptor 2. The invention provides antibodies to the polypeptides expressed by these genes and methods of use thereof.
