Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to transmit a registration request to a first base station of a cellular wireless network, wherein the first base station operates on a first frequency band, the registration request including a first indication of one or more preferred network slices and receive a registration response from the first base station, the registration response including (i) a second indication of whether the one or more preferred network slices are accessible on the first frequency band and (ii) a third indication of where the UE can access any unsupported one or ones of the one or more preferred network slices.

Abstract: This disclosure describes example embodiments and techniques to resolve UE behavior for several SAR use cases. The substate selection for a UE which has a valid SAR list and is currently camped on a cell which is in the registered PLMN or a PLMN from the list of equivalent PLMNs and whose TAI is not in the list of “allowed tracking areas” or is camped on a cell whose TAI is in the list of “non-allowed tracking areas,” has gaps in functionality and certain use cases. Abstract: A device and method for a user equipment (UE) to implement power savings mechanisms when operating within a significant location. The UE identifies that the UE is at a significant location. The significant location is a location relative to a currently camped cell of a network. At a first time and at the significant location, the UE performs a type of operation related to the network connection. The UE stores information corresponding to the performance of the type of operation at the first time in a profile associated with the significant location. At a second time and at the significant location, the UE performs the type of operation related to the network connection. The performance of the type of operation at the second time is modified based on the information stored in the profile associated with the significant location.

Abstract: The exemplary embodiments describe devices, systems and methods for implementing various exemplary techniques related to fifth generation (5G) new radio (NR) cell search. A user equipment (UE) selects a frequency band to scan during a cell search procedure and identifies a frequency within the frequency band that is associated with a synchronization signal block (SSB) based on an indication of the frequency stored locally at the UE prior to the cell search procedure. The UE then scans the frequency for the SSB and determines that the SSB has been broadcast by a cell over the frequency.
