Abstract: A display panel including a scan line, a first data line, a second data line, a first switching element, a second switching element, a first electrode, two second electrodes, a third electrode, a black matrix and a plurality of color filter layers is provided. The first switching element is electrically connected with the scan line and the first data line. The second switching element is electrically connected with the second data line. The first electrode includes at least two first openings. The two second electrodes are electrically connected with the first switching element and the second switching element respectively through the at least two first openings. The third electrode includes two first body portions, a second body portion and at least two branch portions. The black matrix includes a plurality of second openings. Two neighboring color filter layers are disposed corresponding to one of the second openings and form an overlapped structure. The overlapped structure substantially covers at least a portion of the second data line.

Abstract: A pixel structure includes a substrate, first and second gate lines, first and second data lines, and at least one pixel unit. The first and second gate lines and the first and second data lines are over the substrate and intersect with each other. The pixel unit is disposed on the substrate. The pixel unit includes first and second active devices, a common electrode, and first and second pixel electrodes. The first and second active devices are electrically connected to the first data line, and electrically connected to the first and second gate lines respectively. The common electrode is connected to a common potential source. The first and second pixel electrodes are over the common electrode and electrically connected to the first and second active devices respectively. At least one second branch electrode of the second pixel electrode shrinks from its one side to another side.

Abstract: A touch display panel and controlling method thereof are provided. The touch display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a display medium layer, a first common electrode, and a pixel structure including a pixel electrode and a second common electrode. The first common electrode has a voltage signal. In a display mode, the pixel electrode is provided with a data signal so that a first voltage difference exists between the first and the second common electrodes. The arrangement of the display medium layer varies according to the data signal and the first voltage difference. In a touch mode, the second common electrode is provided with an indication signal whose waveform alternates between first and second voltage values. When the indication signal is at the first voltage value and a second voltage value respectively, a second and a third voltage differences exist between the first and second common electrodes.

Each of the plurality of sub-pixel electrodes is disposed in one of the plurality of pixel areas. The first common electrode layer includes a plurality of first common electrodes electrically connected to each other. Each first common electrode includes a stem and a plurality of branches, and the plurality of branches is coupled to two sides of the stem and extends away from the stem. An orthogonal projection of each stem onto the substrate is located between two adjacent sub-pixel electrodes. Orthogonal projections of the branches onto the substrate at least correspond to one sub-pixel electrode.
