The event selection system further includes a profile module to build a social media user profile based on the monitored activities of the social media users. The event selection system further includes a computing module to compute user migration patterns based on the social media user profiles. The event selection system further includes a display module to display the user migration patterns on a system user terminal. The event selection system further includes a reporting module configured to produce a report based on the monitored social media user activities.
Abstract:
System and method to manage an electronic conference hosted by a conference server coupled to a processor and a memory, the method including: receiving, by a communication interface of the conference server, a request from a user to participate in an electronic conference; determining, by the processor, resources needed by the user and resources needed by the electronic conference; determining resource contentions among resources needed by the user and resources needed by the electronic conference; collecting contextual information related to at least one of the user and resources needed by the electronic conference; and resolving, by the processor, contentions among resources needed by the user and resources needed by the electronic conference.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, the grouping and arrangement of sound sources within a three-dimensional sound space can be based on attributes of the sound source. The content presented in the three-dimensional sound space can comprise social media content. According to another embodiment, the content can comprise voicemail messages and the three-dimensional sound space can be used for managing and retrieving the voicemails messages. In yet another embodiment, the content can comprise communications in a contact center between a customer or other caller and a customer support agent. According to a further embodiment, the three-dimensional sound space or an environment in which the three-dimensional sound space is implemented can provide an opportunity for the user or listener to initiate a follow-on communication with the originator of the sound source such as a social media post or other social media communication, a voice call, or other message or communication.
Abstract:
A presentation pacing system includes a monitor module for monitoring a time spent by a speaker on one or more slides while presenting a presentation, the presentation having a plurality of slides. The presentation pacing system further includes a compare module for comparing the monitored time with a pre-recorded time associated with the slides. The presentation pacing system further includes a notification module for notifying the speaker for changing pace of the presentation based at least on the comparison. The presentation pacing system further includes a query module for scheduling and presenting queries of audience to the speaker of the presentation during a slide transition.
Abstract:
Embodiments are directed to using a three-dimensional sound space to analyze security surveillance information. According to one embodiment, the three-dimensional sound space can comprise part of a security surveillance system in which sound sources related to security surveillance information can be presented and a user can efficiently navigate even a large number of sound sources in the three-dimensional sound space. Effective audio surveillance relies on the ability of the surveillance personnel to efficiently identify calls that need further analysis and calls that need no further analysis without introducing too many false negative or false positive conditions. Utilization of three-dimensional space described herein can increase the ease with which security analysts review audio content and identify relevant audio content that requires further analysis.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, audio and non-audio data can be represented as sound sources in a three-dimensional sound space adapted to also provide visual data. Non-audio data can be associated with audio sound sources presented in the sound space. Navigation within this combined three-dimensional audio/visual space can be based primarily on the audio aspects of the sound sources with the details of the non-audio data being presented on demand, for example, when the listener navigates through the combined three-dimensional audio/visual space to a particular sound source at which point the non-audio data associated with that sound source can be presented.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for software turret phone functionalities. A system can display, via a graphical user interface, graphical elements grouped according to a common attribute. Each of the graphical elements can represent an open communication line connecting a first device associated with a first user with a second respective device associated with a second respective user. The system can receive a selection of a graphical element of the graphical elements from the first user, the selection indicating a selected user associated with a respective device. Based on the selection, the system can manipulate a corresponding open communication line connecting the first device associated with the first user with the respective device associated with the selected user.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for enabling the response to a command from a wireless terminal to be based at least partially on the presence or absence of other users nearby, and possibly the identity of those users. In the illustrated embodiment, a server maintains an updated list of the locations of fixed and wireless terminals within an area (e.g., an IEEE 802.11 wireless access point's area of coverage, a CDMA base station's cell, etc.). When a user issues a command to his or her wireless terminal, the command is transmitted to the server. The server determines whether there are any other nearby wireless terminals (and inferentially, the users associated with these terminals), and then determines whether the command is authorized in that environment.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed that enables the selection of a team of people in an organization, such as a business enterprise, to participate in a task that involves communicating with each other, in which the selection of the team seeks to maximize the team cohesiveness. The illustrative embodiment of the present invention incorporates the use of a social network model to describe the communication pattern in the organization. Based on the relationship between the organization's social network structure and the cohesiveness between the people in the organization, the technique of the illustrative embodiment estimates the dyadic cohesiveness of each pair of people, which is defined as the expected value of relationship strength between each evaluated pair of people. One component of the relationship strength is the number of interactions between the two people in the pair. The technique of the illustrative embodiment then uses the cohesiveness estimates to select teams.
Abstract:
An apparatus and methods are disclosed for enabling a telecommunications terminal to notify its user of the arrival of a message via an acoustic or visual signal whose properties are based on attributes of the message. A network infrastructure element (e.g., a switch, a private branch exchange [PBX], a server, etc.) receives a message directed to a terminal and sets the values of ringtone properties (e.g., tempo, volume, pitch, rhythm, etc.) based on attributes of an incoming message (e.g., the sender, a priority, a subject, the location from which the message was sent, etc.). In a first illustrative embodiment the network infrastructure element sends the message and the instantiated ringtone to the terminal, while in a second illustrative embodiment the network infrastructure element sends the message and the property values to the terminal, and the terminal plays a locally-stored ringtone in accordance with the property values.
