    摘要: A coil unit includes a planar coil, a magnetic member that is provided under the planar coil, a magnetic flux leakage prevention member that is provided under the magnetic member, and a heat sink that is provided under the magnetic flux leakage prevention member. The magnetic flux leakage prevention member is electrically insulated from the heat sink. The magnetic flux leakage prevention member is insulated from the heat sink using a double-sided adhesive tape, for example. Since the heat sink dissipates heat generated from the planar coil and is electrically insulated from the magnetic flux leakage prevention member, the heat sink does not function as a member which receives a magnetic flux.

    摘要: A thin film magnetic head comprises a magnetic yoke piece exposed at a medium-opposed surface adjacent a gap layer. A magnetic yoke layer is connected to the magnetic yoke piece at a position retracting from the medium-opposed surface. The tip end of the magnetic yoke layer is exposed at the medium-opposed surface. A non-magnetic layer is interposed between the tip end of the magnetic yoke layer and the magnetic yoke piece at the medium-opposed surface. The non-magnetic layer serves to space the tip end of the magnetic yoke layer away from the other magnetic yoke layer which is separated by the magnetic yoke piece and a gap layer, for example, from the magnetic yoke layer. It is possible to reduce a magnetic field directed to the other magnetic yoke layer from the edges of the magnetic yoke layer protruding in the lateral direction of a data track. Such magnetic fields from the magnetic yoke layer hardly induce magnetic reversal on a magnetic recording medium such as a magnetic recording disk or tape.

    摘要: A protective film (6) having a high secondary-emission coefficient is formed on a dielectric layer (5) so as to lower the discharge voltage of a plasma display panel. When the protective film (6) is exposed to the air, it will transform or become cloudy, or the secondary-emission coefficient will lower. To prevent this problem, an inert film (60) is formed on the surface of the protective film (6). As the inert film (60), a film of a metal oxide such as SiO2 and a film of a metal such as Tb are simultaneously formed. Thus, an inert film (60) excellent in barrier property against oxygen and water in the air and enabling easy sputtering from near the discharge electrode at the aging step can be obtained. With this, a plasma display panel exhibiting a low discharge voltage can be realized.
