摘要: A communication system includes a remote device for communicating with a vehicle. Both the vehicle and the remote device have global positioning system (GPS) receivers for determining the location of the vehicle and remote device respectively. The remote device computes the direction, distance, and elevation difference between the remote device and the vehicle. The remote device also includes a digital compass for determining the direction the remote device is pointed. A display on the remote device shows an arrow, along with the distance and elevation difference, to guide a user to the vehicle. The remote device can also send control commands to vehicle systems and receive status data from vehicle systems.

摘要: An information system for a vehicle includes a computer for handling informational data. This information includes vehicle data corresponding to as internet web pages and email. A primary display is connected to the computer and in a position to be viewed by a driver of the vehicle. A primary input device allows input to the computer and manipulation of the primary display. A remote communicator is also operatively connected to the computer and movable about the vehicle. The remote communicator includes a secondary display and a secondary input device for sending input to the computer and manipulating the secondary display. The secondary input device is also programmed to control the primary display for manipulating the informational data that is displayed to the driver.

摘要: A steering column assembly has a steering column with a longitudinal axis and disposable in a vehicle for tilting movement and telescoping movement. A wedge lock is engaged with the steering column and moveable between a first unlocked position and a first locked position along a first path to selectively lock the steering column with respect to the telescoping movement. A force required to move the wedge lock increases along the first path from the first unlocked position to the first locked position. A lever is pivotally engaged with the steering column about a pivot axis for rotation between an adjusting position and a locking position. The wedge lock moves from the first unlocked position to the first locked position along the first path in response to rotation of the lever from the adjusting position to the locking position. A cable assembly includes a cable with first and second ends and a sheath substantially encircling the cable. The first end is engaged with the lever to move in response to rotation of the lever. A tilt lock member engaged with the steering column is moveable between a second unlocked position and a second locked position along a second path to selectively lock the steering column with respect to the tilting movement. The second end of the cable is engaged with the tilt lock member such that the tilt lock member moves from the second unlocked position to the second locked position along the second path in response to rotation of the lever from the adjusting position to the locking position. The steering column assembly also includes a biasing device urging the tilt lock member to the locked position and cooperating with the lever to offset the force required to move the wedge lock from the first unlocked position to the first locked position along the first path.

摘要: System, method and computer program product for recovering from a failure of a computing device. Start up of a first component of the device is monitored and a determination is made whether the first component has started successfully. If so, a second, higher level component of the device is started. Operational data received from the second component is monitored. If the operational data falls outside of an operational boundary, an action is performed on the second component to enable the second component to operate within a preferred operational boundary. If the first component does not start up successfully, a determination is made if start up of the first component is critical to operation of the second component. If so, a corrective action is performed relative to the first component and afterwards, an attempt is made to start up the second component.

摘要: A method and apparatus for determining an optimized radiation beam arrangement for applying radiation to a tumor target volume while minimizing radiation of a structure volume in a patient, comprising: using a computer to computationally obtain a proposed radiation beam arrangement; using the computer to computationally change the proposed radiation beam arrangement iteratively, incorporating a cost function at each iteration to approach correspondence of a CDVH associated with the proposed radiation beam arrangement to a CDVH associated with a pre-determined desired dose prescription; comparing the dose distribution to a prescribed dose for the tumor volume and surrounding tissue structures, and increasing or decreasing radiation beam intensity if the change of the proposed beam arrangement leads to a greater correspondence to the desired dose prescription to obtain an optimized radiation beam arrangement.
