摘要: An electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding vent panel according to one embodiment generally includes an electrically-conductive porous substrate. The electrically-conductive porous substrate may include electrically-conductive reticulated or open-celled polymeric foam having a plurality of pores in a substantially nonuniform configuration. The vent panel may also include electrically-conductive wire mesh adjacent at least a portion of the electrically-conductive porous substrate for increasing shielding effectiveness.

摘要: A microgripper (2) comprises a pair of opposed actuator devices (4, 6) connected to an electronic control unit (8). Each actuator (4, 6) includes an actuator body 10 of transparent flexible epoxy based photoresist material forming a “hot” arm (12) and a “cold” arm (14) joined together at their ends, and an electrical heating element wire (18) is embedded in the “hot” arm (12). A gripper arm (32) extends from the substrate and has a gripping portion (34) such that the gripper portions of the two gripper arms (32) face each other. When electrical current is supplied to the heating element (18), electrical heating of the “hot” arm (12) occurs, as a result of which thermal expansion of the “hot” arm (12) causes its length to become greater than that of the “cold” arm (14). Because the “hot” and “cold” arms (12, 14) are joined together at their ends, the increased length of the “hot” arm (12) as a result of its thermal expansion causes the actuator bodies (10) to flex, as a result of which the gripper portions (34) of the gripper arms (32) move closer together.

摘要: A multi-media device and accompanying method of use are described herein. The device includes a housing, a display that is integrated within the housing and a processor. The processor can be operable to cause a user interface for multiple users to be displayed on the display. The user interface can include a user indicator that selectively displays a representation of each user associated with the multi-media device and provides a selection mechanism that provides a way for a user to select a particular representation. The user interface can also include a scrolling mechanism. When activated, the scrolling mechanism can cause the user indicator to selectively display the representations of the users based on a manner in which the scrolling mechanism is activated.

摘要: A system and method is disclosed to cut a path in the ground with a path cutter. The path cutter includes a cutting edge to cut a path and loosen earth and a mull board angled such that any earth loosed by the mull board and the cutting edge is pushed towards the center of mull board. The width of the cut path is adjusted by an adjustment member attached to the cutting edge and the mull board. A first auger moves the earth, weeds, rocks and other material loosed by the cutting edge and the mull board to a front conveyor belt powered by a first orbit motor. The material on the first conveyor belt is transferred to a second conveyor belt by a second auger. The second conveyor belt is powered by a second orbit motor. The material on the second conveyor belt is discharged from the path cutter away from the cut path.

摘要: Techniques are presented for identifying mobile devices within a coverage legion of a wireless station Positions for mobile devices, if any, within the coverage region are determined. It is then determined whether the positions are within one or more defined areas, called “notification areas” herein. Additionally, selected mobile devices within notification areas are sent messages. The selected mobile devices ale selected via certain criteria, including, for instance, campaign specifications and subscriber information A message can be sent to a mobile device if the subscriber corresponding to the mobile device has indicated an acceptance of a category of notifications for the message and for the publisher who is publishing the notifications. The category could be traffic conditions and the publisher could be a Department of transportation having responsibility for a particular freeway. These are two examples of multiple criteria for selecting mobile devices to which messages could be sent.

摘要: A porous diffusion media according to the present invention is positioned against a catalyst layer of the membrane electrode assembly, the porous matrix comprises carbon paper, and the water transfer particles comprise carbon fibers or powders. Relatively high and relatively low water transfer particle density regions alternate across the porous diffusion media. A first major face of the media may be collectively more hydrophilic than the second major face and the second major face may be collectively more hydrophobic than the first major face. The diffusion media is positioned against the catalyst layer along the first major face of the diffusion media and against a flow field of the fuel cell along the second major face of the diffusion media. The porous diffusion media comprises hydrophobic material disposed along the second major face of the diffusion media.

摘要: A membrane filtration manifold for connecting a filter submodule including one or more elongate bundles of semipermeable polymeric fibers is provided. The manifold includes a housing and connecting collar connected with said housing. The collar is adapted to receive and locate the submodule, where the submodule has a connecting sleeve with a locking formation. The submodule can be secured at one end to the collar by a clip adapted to engage both the collar and the locking formation to prevent axial withdrawal of the submodule from the collar. Also disclosed is a membrane filtration apparatus including a filter submodule including one or more elongate bundles of semipermeable polymeric fibers. The apparatus further includes a membrane filtration manifold removably connected at one end of said filter submodule and a basepiece removably connected to the other end of said filter submodule.

摘要: Data in a cache is selectively compressed based on predictions as to whether the benefit of compression in reducing cache misses exceeds the cost of decompressing the compressed data. The prediction is based on an assessment of actual costs and benefits for previous instruction cycles of the same program providing dynamic and concurrent adjustment of compression to maximize the benefits of compression in a variety of applications.
