摘要: The present invention provides diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic reagents for infection of an animal subject such as a human by M. tuberculosis, and conditions associated with such infections, such as, for example, tuberculosis. More particularly, the present invention provides a recombinant protein of M. tuberculosis designated “BSX” (SEQ ID NO: 1) and immunogenic epitopes thereof such as, for example, comprising SEQ ID NOS: 34, 25 and 45, that are useful in antibody-based diagnostic applications. The present invention also provides antibodies against BSX and its immunogenic peptides that are useful for antigen-based diagnostic and prognostic tests, and for therapy and vaccine formulations.

摘要: Techniques are presented for identifying mobile devices within a coverage legion of a wireless station Positions for mobile devices, if any, within the coverage region are determined. It is then determined whether the positions are within one or more defined areas, called “notification areas” herein. Additionally, selected mobile devices within notification areas are sent messages. The selected mobile devices ale selected via certain criteria, including, for instance, campaign specifications and subscriber information A message can be sent to a mobile device if the subscriber corresponding to the mobile device has indicated an acceptance of a category of notifications for the message and for the publisher who is publishing the notifications. The category could be traffic conditions and the publisher could be a Department of transportation having responsibility for a particular freeway. These are two examples of multiple criteria for selecting mobile devices to which messages could be sent.

摘要: The invention provides an approach for automatic and dynamic mapping of zone boundaries for position-determination systems. The system of the present invention utilizes beacons (“position determining devices”) to identify the boundaries and limits of device area coverage (“zone”) for tracking objects with a position-determination system. Beacons, used both to identify zone boundaries and to tag assets to be tracked, are distributed within the zone. The beacon locations are then detected and displayed in the visualization application. Three or more beacons may be linked together, either manually or automatically, to establish a detection zone. Using beacons to establish detection zone boundaries eliminates guesswork and its associated errors, and produces a zone boundary that is actually valid. In an improvement over present systems, greater accuracy is assured using zone-defining beacons, because if a beacon is unintentionally placed in an area unavailable to the position-determination system, that beacon will not appear in the visualization application display, and thus will not be available to create an incorrect zone representation.

摘要: A method and apparatus for use in a flow through assay process is disclosed. The method is characterised by a “pre-incubation step” in which the sample which is to be analysed, (typically for the presence of a particular protein), and a detection analyte (typically an antibody bound to colloidal gold or a fluorescent tag) which is known to bind to the particular protein may bind together for a desired period of time. This pre incubation step occurs before the mixture of sample and detection analyte come into contact with a capture analyte bound to a membrane. The provision of the pre-incubation step has the effect of both improving the sensitivity of the assay and reducing the volume of sample required for an assay. An apparatus for carrying out the method is disclosed defining a pre-incubation chamber for receiving the sample and detection analyte having a base defined by a membrane and a second membrane to which a capture analyte is bound. In one version the pre-incubation chamber is supported above the second membrane in one position but can be pushed into contact with the membrane carrying the capture analyte thus permitting fluid transfer from the incubation chamber through the capture membrane. In another version the membrane at the base of the incubation chamber is hydrophobic and its underside contacts the capture membrane and when a wetting agent is applied to the contents of the pre-incubation chamber fluid transfer occurs.

摘要: An automatic telephone alarm apparatus for transmitting simulated dialing pulses to a switched telephone network and prerecorded voice messages to the selected telephone instrument. Message groups are stored on multitrack magnetic tape and are played back using a standard audio tape cartridge playback unit. The specific track to be played back is determined by the presence of one or more external stimuli. The selection of a specific message group from the plurality of groups recorded on a single tape track is determined by a combination of the presence of one or more external stimuli and a detection circuit responsive to a specific recorded audio tone header which precedes each message. The occurrence of an external signal initiates the switching of the telephone line from a telephone instrument to the system''s output, transmission of the recorded simulated selection pulses to the telephone network, and transmission of the recorded message to the selected telephone instrument.

摘要: A method and system for escrow service for web-based transactions, such as multi-currency web-based transactions, is web-accessible and accepts registrations from exchanges and/or portal partners. The completion of registration and transactions is allowed to entitled users who access the system via the web. The system maintains an internal banking engine to act as a deal manager, messaging service and accounts sub-ledger and escrows funds entrusted to it. The transaction process is composed of a number of transaction statuses, and reporting of those statuses to users is accomplished online and via web query. The system provides local currency/multi-currency capability and supports several methods of payment, such as credit cards, authorized Automated Clearing House (ACH) or equivalent direct debit/credit and wire transfer payments, and all funds movements are electronic. The system supports transaction level detail through its banking engine accounts; funds movements from its currency accounts, and escrows funds to currency based escrow accounts. Buyers completing goods/services inspections after delivery initiate settlements.

摘要: Ethylene is copolymerized with one or more mono .alpha.-olefins, especially butene and/or hexene, using as catayst a Group IVA metal hydrocarbyl compound supported on particulate alumina, the purity ratio (i.e. the molar ratio of Group IVA metal to Group I to III metal) of the said compound being at least 100/1 and, preferably, 500/1. By using these very pure compounds, especially in the case of zirconium tetrabenzyl, the incorporation of co-monomer in the copolymer product may be enhanced.
