Abstract: A stadiometer includes a cap portion to be worn on a head of a user; a connecting portion having a first end coupled to the cap portion and a measuring portion coupled to a second end of the connecting portion. The measuring portion includes a plurality of sensors and a measuring rod. The stadiometer also includes a height measuring plate contactable by the plurality of sensors and the measuring rod. The sensors and measuring rod are configured such that the measuring rod is horizontal when the height measuring plate is contacted by the plurality of sensors simultaneously. The measuring rod is configured to contact the height measuring plate when the height measuring plate is contacted by the plurality of sensors simultaneously.

Abstract: A raised pavement marker (RPM) is sized and configured to comply with Department of Transportation requirements and includes a main body with a top side, opposite angled side faces, opposite ends and a bottom surface structured to be bonded to a road surface. A sheet substrate is coated on a top surface with multiple layers of a photoluminescent composition containing one or more rare earth materials that emits a highly visible glowing light in dark or near dark conditions for at least 6 hours when fully charged. The sheet substrate is inserted within a recessed pocket on the top side of the RPM with the photo-luminescent top surface facing up and is covered by a transparent acrylic lens that is electronically welded to the main body to provide an integral one piece sealed structure. The opposite angled side faces may be fitted with prismatic reflective lenses.

Abstract: A light emitting device includes an organic electroluminescent material having a glass transition temperature substantially at or below an intended normal operation temperature of the device. A method for regenerating an organic light emitting device by heating an electroluminescent layer to a temperature substantially equal to or above its glass transition temperature is also described. This provides a means and method for regenerating a degraded emitter in use.

Abstract: A transverse fixation device is disclosed. The device includes one or more connecting bodies disposed substantially between two elongate rods. Each connecting body includes a receptacle that is capable of engaging with the two elongate rods. A c-ring comprising an outer surface having a spherical curvature is also included. A third rod may be inserted into the c-ring. A clamp included in the connecting bodies may then be disposed about the c-ring and third rod to allow the connecting bodies to slidingly engage with the third rod.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an expandable prosthetic implant device for engagement between vertebrae generally comprising an inner member, outer member, and gear member positioned coaxial with respect to each other such that the inner and outer members are moveable relative to each other along an axis. The gear member is axially fixed to the outer member and freely rotatable with respect to the outer member and the gear member threadedly engages a threaded portion of the inner member to translate inner member along the axis. The implant is configured to engage the vertebrae in a predetermined alignment and the gear member includes gear teeth exposed to the exterior and configured to be accessible by a tool member at a plurality of angular positions around the perimeter of the implant device.
