摘要: A device for determining the presence and/or quantity of one or more analytes in a sample of human body fluid has a container for receiving a sample of body fluid, with an interior that is delimited by a base and by a circumferential surface. It further comprises at least one test strip and a holding element for receiving and holding the one or more test strips. The holding element is designed such that it has a shape corresponding and adapted to the peripheral circumferential surface of the container. The device further comprises an elongate sampling element having an absorbent sampler that takes up the sample of body fluid and by means of which the sample of body fluid is transferred into the container. The sampling element can include an indicator strip for determining whether the amount of liquid sample sufficient for carrying out an assay.

摘要: A method for speech enabling an application can include the step of specifying a speech input within a speech-enabled markup. The speech-enabled markup can also specify an application operation that is to be executed responsive to the detection of the speech input. After the speech input has been defined within the speech-enabled markup, the application can be instantiated. The specified speech input can then be detected and the application operation can be responsively executed in accordance with the specified speech-enabled markup.

摘要: A wearable computing system can comprise a device attachment mechanism and a push to talk actuator. The device attachment mechanism can include a device coupler and a body affixer. The device coupler can detachably couple a portable computing device to the device attachment mechanism. The body affixer can detachably affix the device attachment mechanism to a forearm of a user positioned between a wrist of the user and an elbow of the user. The push to talk actuator can be activated by the user utilizing at least one of an arm, a hand, a wrist, and a finger movement. The push to talk actuator can be coupled to an actuator attachment mechanism that is wearably attached to the user in a hands-free fashion.

摘要: Methods and compositions for therapy of pain are provided. Compositions comprising therapeutically effective amounts of two or more of an extract of Ganoderma lucidum, an extract of Salvia miltiorrhiza and an extract of Scutellaria barbata and optionally a therapeutically effective amount of an extract of Hippophae rhamnoides are provided. Novel synergistic effects of the use of these compounds in combination therapy are disclosed. Compositions exhibit multiple functions that are useful for the treatment of pain and inflammation. Compositions of the invention inhibit the activity of COX-2 to a greater extent than COX-1. Compositions of the invention also inhibit the nuclear accumulation of NF-kappaB and thus inhibit the expression of a number of proinflammatory molecules including COX-2.
