摘要: The articles and methods described herein provide a way to manipulate condensation on a surface by micro/nano-engineering textures on the surface and filling the spaces between the texture features with an impregnating liquid that is stably held therebetween or therewithin. The articles and methods allow droplets of water, or other condensed phases, even in micrometer size range, to easily shed from the surface, thereby enhancing contact between a condensing species and the condensing surface. It has been found that dropwise condensation is enhanced by the use of an impregnating (secondary) liquid that has a relatively high surface tension, and, even more preferably, an impregnating liquid that has both a high surface tension and a low viscosity.

An outer surface of the coating layer includes surfaces of at least first particles extending outward from a top periphery of the polymer matrix. The outer surface exhibits a property of delaying ice formation compared to the coating layer without the first particles. A method includes applying a coating composition in one application step. The one-step coating composition contains first particles, second particles, and third particles in a base containing a polymer. A coating composition includes first particles, second particles, and third particles distributed in a matrix precursor.

The constituent ratio of the particulate fluororesin in a coating film that is a cured state of the mixed coating material is 43 wt % or more and 82 wt % or less. A wing includes a non-water-repellent coating film that forms an outermost layer in a water droplet impact region in a leading edge portion of the wing; and a water-repellent coating film that is formed of the mixed coating material and that forms an outermost layer in a water-repellent region adjacent to the water droplet impact region P. An anti-icing system includes the wing and a heating unit that heats the water droplet impact region.

摘要: A method of treatment of outdoor equipment for reducing ice adhesion thereon, the outdoor equipment defining a substrate on which a layer of linkers is intended to be coupled, the linkers being bi-functional and including: a first reacting group able to couple in a stable way in environmental conditions with the substrate, and a second reacting group able to generate a covalent bond stable in environmental conditions with polysaccharides, the method includes the steps of: coupling the linkers on at least an area of the equipment to obtain a layer of linkers coupled stably in environmental conditions with the substrate; and making react some polysaccharides on the layer of linkers to bind them with a covalent bond stable in environmental conditions with the second reacting group of the linkers and forming a layer of polysaccharides on the layer of linkers.
