摘要： An interactive video system is provided that is capable of combining streaming televised events with video conferencing technology to create a social television experience. A first user is able to connect via a webcam and microphone to a server that combines the webcam video and sound from the microphone with a streaming video that could be a televised event. The combined webcam video, microphone sound, and streaming video is then broadcast to the first user and other users such that the users are capable of viewing the streaming video with the live conferencing video and sound from the first user. This procedure may be repeated such that a plurality of users may video conference live on top of the streaming video.

摘要： The present invention introduces a radically different way of accelerating biomolecule conjugates into tissue, and hence towards their targets for purposes of tissue staining. The invention provides for an order of magnitude improvement over the prior art diffusion process used to stain tissue. The invention comprises a method of tissue staining by applying an electric field to a tissue sample in the presence of an electrolyte and biomolecular conjugates of interest suspended in the electrolyte. Typical staining times are reduced to seconds as opposed to 30-120 minutes common in the prior art. The invention is also directed to devices for performing the method.

The reagents comprise components optimized to facilitate removal or etching of the embedding media from the biological sample. The present invention also provides reagents for use in an automated environment for cell conditioning biological samples wherein the cells are predisposed for access by reagent molecules for histochemical and cytochemical staining procedures. The reagents comprise components optimized to facilitate molecular access to cells and cell constituents within the biological sample.

In one embodiment, a conjugates is provided that includes a specific-binding moiety and a fluorescent nanoparticle coupled by a heterobifunctional PEG linker. Fluorescent conjugates according to the disclosure can provide exceptionally intense and stable signals for immunohistochemical and in situ hybridization assays on tissue sections and cytology samples, and enable multiplexing of such assays.

摘要： An embodiment of the invention is directed to a method and diluent for stabilizing biomolecules, comprising Tris and a polyhydroxy carbohydrate selected from the group consisting of mannitol and trehalose. The diluent may optionally include casein added as a background blocking protein. The diluent may optionally include sodium azide as an anti-microbial agent. Mannitol and/or trehalose are particularly useful embodiments of polyhydroxy carbohydrates.
