摘要: Disclosed are embodiments for reducing likelihood of selecting a cell identified by a Radio Access Network (RAN) Notification Area ID (RNA ID) that is different from that identifying a last or current serving cell so as to avoid an RNA update procedure; reducing Random Access Channel (RACH) transmissions for an RNA update procedure and a mobile originated (MO) data transmission in response to a Radio Resource Control (RRC) triggered RNA update procedure; and selecting a band or beam in a multi-band/beam cellular system that improves RACH efficiency.

摘要: Disclosed are methods, systems, and computer-readable medium to perform operations including: determining that a user equipment (UE) is connected to a cell of a network using a connection in a standalone (SA) mode; based on determining a bandwidth part (BWP) of the connection, accessing a physical cell identifier (PCI) list associated with the UE for a time period; based on the number of PCI values in the list and a duration of the time period, assigning, to a BWP switch timer, a timeout value; initiating the BWP switch timer; and in response to determining that the handover of the UE to the different cell of the network occurs prior to the BWP switch timer reaching the timeout value, causing the UE to switch to a LTE mode.

摘要: An electronic device having multiple antenna groups for data communication may determine a temperature of a first antenna group and determine a power gain of a second antenna group. The electronic device may communicate using the second antenna group in response to determining that the temperature of the first antenna group exceeds a temperature threshold and the power gain of the second antenna group exceeds a gain threshold. In some embodiments, the electronic device may receive communication link preferences, determine an antenna group that is disposed outside of thermal hotspots of the electronic device, and determine a beam that enables the communication link preferences via the antenna group. The electronic device may then transmit or receive data via the antenna group by forming the beam.

摘要: Techniques discussed herein can reduce RRC signaling messages, and various aspects can employ one or more of these sets of techniques. A first set of techniques can be employed to reduce RACH (Random Access Channel) requests from an RRC Idle State SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) of a UE in DSDS (Dual SIM Dual Standby) mode. A second set of techniques can be employed to reduce the number of RACH attempts to obtain NotBroadcasted (e.g., On Demand) SI(s) (System Information(s)) by a UE in response to a page message indicating SI modification.

摘要: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform methods for improvements to security checks in a fifth generation (5G) New Radio (NR) network, including mechanisms to avoid redundant access stratum (AS) security checks. The wireless device may determine that an on-demand system information block (SIB) request is pending transmission and may buffer the on-demand SIB in response to determining that a connection establishment procedure will be initiated within a specified time period. The wireless device may then perform a unified security procedure for the on-demand SIB request and the connection establishment procedure, including confirming connection security. Further, in response to confirming connection security, the wireless device may use an on-demand SIB received from the network without confirming a corresponding on-demand SIB signature.

摘要: Techniques described herein may enable a user equipment (UE) to optimize radio access technology (RAT) and radio resources (e.g., bandwidth parts (BWPs)) when communicating with the network. This may be based on one or more factors or conditions, such as whether the UE is currently using 4th generation (4G) RAT or 5th generation (5G) RAT, whether the UE is in an active mode or idle mode, a BWP used by the UE, whether an application or network service requires a certain throughput, a type of application being used by the UE, an amount of network congestion, and so on. RAT optimization may also be based on whether the UE is using a frequency range 1 (FR1) or frequency range 2 (FR2), whether the UE is stationary or moving, whether the UE is experiencing beam failures, uplink (UL) switches, link quality measurements (LQMs), reference signal received power (RSRP) measurements, and so on.

摘要: Mechanisms are provided for a user equipment (UE) to determine to use a shared resource such as an antenna to access a land based wireless communication system or a satellite communication system. The UE can provide a first priority indication to indicate whether to access the land based wireless communication system based on one or more wireless link metrics of the land based wireless communication system or one or more application metrics for applications using the land based wireless communication system; and provide a second priority indication to indicate whether to access the satellite wireless communication system based on one or more service metrics provided by the satellite wireless communication system. The UE can determine to use the shared resources to access the land based wireless communication system or the satellite communication system based on the first priority indication and the second priority indication.

The wireless device may perform a remedial action(s) responsive to detection of a data stall condition(s)/hint(s), including initiating a service recovery of the cellular interface, initiating a radio access technology (RAT) upgrade procedure, and/or initiating a handover procedure to a neighbor cell.

摘要: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to prioritize cells that support EN-DC over similar cells not supporting EN-DC. The UE may be configured to perform one or more measurement scans associated with cell selection and/or cell re-selection and may determine whether at least two LTE cells meet a selection criteria based on RSRP and/or SNR measurements. The UE may be configured to, in response to determining that at least two LTE cells meet the selection criteria, prioritize a first LTE cell of the at least two LTE cells over a second LTE cell of the at least two LTE cells based, at least in part, on support EN-DC. The first LTE cell may indicate support of EN-DC, e.g., via a ULI IE included in a SIB2 broadcast by the first LTE cell. The UE may be configured to select the first LTE cell for camping.
