    摘要: A method is disclosed for use in a heterogeneous telecommunications system of the kind comprising a macro base station and a low-power base station, the low-power base station having a coverage which is extendible by range expansion, RE, to serve a user equipment which would otherwise have been served by the macro base station. According to the method, which is performed in either of the macro base station or the low-power base station, information about radio conditions of the user equipment at least with respect to the macro base station is obtained (310). Based on the obtained information, it is determined (320) whether a criterion for conditional range expansion is satisfied, said criterion being related to the uplink transmission power of the user equipment to the macro base station. Accordingly, range expansion is applied (330) for the user equipment only when the criterion is satisfied. A corresponding base station, telecommunications system and computer readable storage medium are also disclosed.

The user equipment specific information comprises information of a prevailing radio situation and information of a present decoding performance. A present capability of the user equipment for handling increased interference and a measure of a cell selection offset required to cover the user equipment by a second cell is estimated from the user equipment specific information. It is decided on modifying a cell selection offset for handover between the first cell and the second cell, in dependence on the estimated present capability of the user equipment for handling increased interference and the cell selection offset required to cover the user equipment by the second cell.

    摘要: The technology relates to resource allocation in communications systems. In such a system, the pool of resources that can be provided to connected user equipment for usage in conducting communications services are divided into multiple resources classes. This class division is based on a characteristic allocation time of resource allocation procedures that can be applied on resources of the different classes. For each class, a resource utilization measure is determined. It is then determined, based on this measure, whether or not a resource allocation procedure associated with the current class should be triggered. This selective triggering can be realized through a comparison between the measure and a threshold associated with the current class. Both the measure determination and selective triggering are performed for a given class before continuing with a next class, preferably starting with the class having slowest resource allocation procedures.
