摘要: A shroud for use with a submergible pumping system. The shroud is disposed over a submergible motor and includes fluid channels for conducting heat away from the submergible motor. The shroud is formed from a sheet material, such as sheet metal, to permit its use in wellbores having a narrow annular space between the submergible pumping system and the interior surface of the wellbore casing. The sheet material includes longitudinal corrugations to facilitate fluid flow while strengthening the construction of the shroud.

摘要: A spring cartridge rotor bearing is inserted into an electric motor during assembly as a preassembled unit. The rotor bearing includes a sleeve having a bore adapted to receive therethrough a shaft of the electric motor, and each end of the sleeve adapted to contact adjacent motor rotor sections. A bearing has a bore extending therethrough with the sleeve received therein. The bearing thermally locks into the stator bore early in motor warm-up and the bearing has sufficient end play on the sleeve to accommodate shaft expansion. One or more springs are located on the sleeve to bias the bearing to a neutral or generally centered position on the sleeve. The springs permit the bearing to move along the sleeve during times of thermal expansion and contraction, and prevent the bearing from becoming locked into an extreme position. This prevents the transmission of thrust loads from the rotor to the bearing.

摘要: According to one or more aspects of the present disclosure, a motor protector comprises a housing defining a compensator chamber; a compensator disposed in the housing having a motor fluid end in fluid communication with a motor fluid and a well fluid end, the compensator axially moveable relative to the housing in response to the expansion and contraction of the motor fluid; and a port formed through the housing to provide fluid communication from exterior of the housing to the well fluid end of the compensator. The compensator may be one selected from the group of a bellows and a plunger.

摘要: An electrical submersible pump (ESP) for use in a wellbore includes a submersible pump; a motor; and a protector operatively coupled to the motor to protect the motor, wherein at least one of the motor and protector is filled with a PFPE oil. A method for manufacturing an ESP for use in a wellbore includes assembling the ESP from a pump, a motor, and a protector, wherein the protector is operatively coupled to the motor for the protection of the motor; and filling at least one of the motor and protector with a PFPE oil. A method for pumping a fluid from a wellbore using an ESP includes disposing the ESP in the wellbore; and operating the ESP, wherein the ESP comprises a pump, a motor, and a protector, and wherein at least one of the motor and protector is filled with a PFPE oil.

摘要: A technique is provided to facilitate pumping of fluids in a well. A submersible pumping system utilizes a submersible motor to power a submersible pump. A motor protector works in cooperation with the submersible motor to protect motor fluid within the submersible motor and to reduce differential pressures between the internal motor fluid and the external well fluid. The motor protector incorporates a piston slidably sealed within an interior cavity of the motor protector for movement to reduce undue differential pressures.
