摘要: A virtual printer interface node enables a non-cloud-ready printer to communicate with a cloud-based service, residing on an internet. The virtual printer interface node includes a housing; a communication interface to provide communication directly to the network router; and a microcontroller operatively connected to the communication interface. The microcontroller converts commands, received through the communication interface, from the cloud-based service, residing on the internet, to native protocols of the non-cloud-ready networked printer and communicates the converted native protocols to the non-cloud-ready networked printer.

摘要: A system architecture and method are provided that allow a retailer to provide a unique shopping experience to their customers. The customers, who belong to multiple affinity groups and have a purchasing history, are provided coupons via a wireless mobile device at the time they enter a zone on or about a retail location. The customer may use their wireless mobile device to select coupons or incentives for items that they wish to purchase in the store and thereby receive a discount. Retailers and product manufacturers may incentivise customers to purchase their goods at or near the point of product selection.

摘要: The invention described in the specification relates to an improved ink jet printer cartridge structure which includes a substrate carrier or nose piece upon which semiconductor devices for ink jet printheads are mounted. The substrate carrier has a top surface containing one or more substrate locator wells each well having well walls, a well base and at least one ink feed slot in each well base and side walls attached to the top surface along the perimeter thereof. One or more of the side walls contain fins for heat removal from the substrate carrier and at least two alignment devices attached adjacent at least one of the side walls for precisely aligning the substrate carrier in a printer carriage. Among the advantages of the substrate carrier is that it provides a suitable means for substrate alignment for multiple substrates, a means for cooling multiple substrates, a means for fixedly or removably attaching the carrier to a ink reservoir body and a means for accurately aligning the carrier and reservoir body in a carriage of a printer.

摘要: A method for making an inkjet printhead nozzle plate from a composite strip containing a nozzle layer and an adhesive layer is disclosed. The adhesive layer is coated with a polymeric sacrificial layer prior to laser ablating the flow features in the composite strip. A method is also provided form improving adhesion between the adhesive layer and the sacrificial layer. Once the composite strip containing the sacrificial layer is prepared, the coated composite strip is then laser ablated to form flow features in the strip in order to form the nozzle plates. After forming the flow features, the sacrificial layer is removed individual inkjet printhead nozzle plate are separated from the composite strip by singulating the nozzle plates with a laser.

摘要: The invention described in the specification relates to a carrier for an ink jet printhead having unique characteristics which substantially inhibit corrosion and provide improved thermal heat transfer from energizer devices for the ink to the surrounding atmosphere. The carrier has top and bottom surfaces and is adapted to receive a chip and a circuit layer thereon. Another feature of the carrier is a well having a base and walls surrounding the base for receiving a semiconductor chip therein. The walls extend above the top surface of the carrier to a wall height that is substantially equal to the thickness of the circuit layer. The well has a well depth that is substantially equal to the thickness of the chip. A slot formed in the base of the well extends from the bottom surface of the carrier to the base and provide a flow path for ink to the energizers on the chip. Use of a separate carrier for the printhead components provides increased process versatility during the manufacture of the printhead.

摘要: A system for cooling an inkjet print head with the print head having a nozzle plate and heater chip. The nozzle plate contains a series of firing chambers and nozzles. The heater chip contains several heating elements and cooling channels. Ink is heated in the firing chambers and forced through the nozzles onto paper. A pump is employed to pump the ink from an ink reservoir through the cooling channels in the heater chip in order to maintain the heater chip at a constant temperature. When the printer is actively printing, at least a portion of the ink is returned to the reservoir. When the printer is not actively printing, ink is still pumped through the cooling channels to maintain the heater chip at the proper temperature.
