摘要: Disclosed is an improved process for preparing di-lower alkyl naphthalenedisulfonyl by employing a naphthalenedisulfonate chloride and a stoichiometrically excess amount of an aliphatic alcohol and allowing them to react in the presence of an aqueous solution of an alkali. The improved process comprises treating the reaction product from said process with an alkali metal alcoholate and then washing the thus treated reaction product with water to obtain a highly pure product. Also disclosed is a process of limiting the formation of undesirable impurities arising from the reaction of said naphthalenedisulfonyl chloride and said aliphatic alcohol.

摘要: An organic optical device which can suppress deterioration due to moisture or an impurity is provided. An organic optical device includes a supporting body, a functional layer provided over the supporting body, and a light-emitting body containing an organic compound provided over the functional layer. The functional layer includes an insulating film containing gallium or aluminum, zinc, and oxygen. The supporting body and the functional layer each have a property of transmitting light with a wavelength of greater than or equal to 400 nm and less than or equal to 700 nm. By using the insulating film containing gallium or aluminum, zinc, and oxygen as a protective film, entry of moisture or an impurity into an organic compound or a metal material can be suppressed.

摘要: A successive deposition apparatus by which a reduction in the luminous efficiency of a light-emitting element can be suppressed even in high-speed deposition of a light-emitting layer thereof is provided. The apparatus includes: a second deposition chamber; a third deposition chamber coupled to the second deposition chamber; a transfer unit for transferring a substrate from second deposition chamber to third deposition chamber; plural third deposition sources arranged in the substrate transfer direction in the second deposition chamber; and a fourth and fifth deposition sources alternately arranged in the transfer direction in the third deposition chamber. In the third deposition chamber, the fourth deposition source is placed nearest to the second deposition source. The fourth deposition source contains a host material, and the fifth deposition source contains a dopant material. The HOMO level of a material of the third deposition source is adjusted to that of the host material.

摘要: A light-emitting module with improved light extraction efficiency and reliability is provided. In the light-emitting module, an element substrate with gas barrier properties is used; a light-emitting element is optically connected to one surface side of the element substrate; and a diffuse reflection layer is in contact with the other surface side of the element substrate. The diffuse reflection layer has a diffuse reflectance of greater than or equal to 75% and less than 100%. The light-emitting element includes a layer containing a light-emitting organic compound between a pair of light-transmitting electrodes. The element substrate transmits light emitted from the light-emitting element; the refractive index of the element substrate is different from that of layer containing a light-emitting organic compound by 0.2 or less.
