摘要: The present invention provides a method for applying a coating solution with a bar, comprising the steps of: contacting a rotating coating bar with a lower surface of a continuously running web; discharging a coating solution toward the lower surface of the web from a coating solution discharging section positioned upstream of the coating bar in a web running direction to form a coating solution reservoir upstream of the coating bar; and applying the coating solution to the web via the coating solution reservoir, wherein the method for applying a coating solution with a bar includes a step of regulating a pressure of the coating solution reservoir depending on a running speed of the web.

摘要: A coating apparatus is provided which does not form lines having a constant pitch in applying a coating solution to a web (16) or a sheet medium by using a coating rod (12A, 12B, 12C) or a coating roller (12) even at a high speed. The present invention relates to a coating apparatus for applying a coating solution to a continuously running support medium via a coating rod (12C). A coating rod (12C) is a cylindrical body having an outer surface in which convex sections having a width P1 and concave sections having a width P2 are alternately formed in an axial direction of the surface, so that a series of convex and concave sections having a constant pitch P=P1+P2 are formed. Each of the convex sections includes a flat part having a maximum height roughness (Rz) of 3 μm or less, and the flat part has a width P3 of 0.55 P or more.

摘要: According to the coating device and method of the invention, coating is performed while the coating liquid is sprayed from the coating liquid supply passage toward the lower surface of the web in a form of a curtain to form a fluid wall of the coating liquid between an exit of the coating liquid supply passage and the lower surface of the web, so that entrained air running with the web can be blocked by the fluid wall. The fluid wall can block entrained air, and therefore, allow stable coating without any defect such as a film cut in a coating film even when the web is run at speed high enough to form a film of entrained air on a web surface and coated.

This area is ground by a grinding apparatus by which a maximum height Ry of the rod surface is adjusted to 15 μm or less. Further, a ratio of D/W is adjusted to 0.01 or more, wherein D is a total distance of the convex portions of the rod actually abutting on a web in an axial direction of the rod, and W is a coating width of the web. Furthermore, straightness of the rod is adjusted to 30 μm or less per 1 m, and roundness of the rod is adjusted to 10 μm or less. Micro-projections are removed by grinding so that scratches of a coating surface are prevented from occurring. Coating unevenness is prevented by improving the straightness and the roundness.

摘要: A slide bead coating method and apparatus which is able to form a stable bead over the width of coating solutions and regularly coat the coating solutions on a web to an edge region and which is able to change the width of the coating solutions without stopping the coating operation even if the width of the web changes. A discharged liquid from a nozzle is applied on both side edges of the coating solutions flowing down a slide surface.
