Abstract:
In a system (10) for managing a soil treatment business, an injection apparatus (12) is operable to inject soil treatment under high pressure down into soil. A control system (92) is associated with the injection apparatus (12) and is configured to collect data during operation of the injection apparatus (12). A data management system (801) is configured to receive the data collected by the injection apparatus (12) control system (92). The data management system (801) generally comprises a database for storing the collected data, with the data management system being accessible by the business for reviewing the collected data.
Abstract:
An injection apparatus for treating soil adjacent a structure has a handle and a manifold head attached to the handle. The manifold head has at least one inlet and at least one internal passage in fluid communication with the at least one inlet. A high pressure nozzle is in fluid communication with the at least one internal passage in the manifold head and is adapted for emitting a discharge stream of pesticide for subsurface injection of the pesticide. A low pressure nozzle is provided for applying a pesticide to the surface. The manifold head has a substantially planar contact member having a contact surface for contact with the surface beneath which the pesticide is applied. The contact member has a first opening in the contact surface in fluid communication with the high pressure nozzle and a second opening in the contact surface in fluid communication with the low pressure nozzle.

Abstract:
In an apparatus and system (710) for treating soil, an injection apparatus (712) is operable to inject soil treatment under high pressure down into the soil. A base unit (714) is operable to deliver pressurized fluid to the injection apparatus. The injection apparatus is connected to the base unit by a conduit (713) defining a fluid passageway therebetween, with the injection apparatus being positionable remote from the base unit. The base unit includes a base unit control system (792) for controlling operation of the base unit to deliver pressurized fluid to the injection apparatus, and the injection apparatus includes an injection apparatus control system (799) in communication with the base unit control system for controlling operation of the base unit from a position remote from the base unit.
Abstract:
A method of treating soil adjacent a structure generally includes positioning a base unit of a treatment apparatus at a location adjacent the structure. An application tool is positioned over a first injection site. The application tool includes at least one nozzle. The base unit is operated to supply pressurized treatment liquid to the application tool. The application tool is operated to inject the pressurized treatment liquid into the soil at the first injection site without prior disturbance of the soil. The application tool is moved to a second injection site and operated to inject pressurized treatment liquid into the soil at the second injection site without prior disturbance of the soil.
Abstract:
In a method and apparatus (710) for treating soil at a work site, a high pressure application tool (712) is connected to a base unit (714) and moved relative thereto along a first area of the work site adjacent a structure (94) and operated to inject soil treatment down into the soil along the first area of the work site. A low pressure application tool (711) is interchanged with the high pressure application tool (712) and moved relative to the base unit along a second area of the work site adjacent the structure (94) and different from the first area of the work site. The low pressure application tool (711) is operated to apply soil treatment to the soil along the second area of the work site.
Abstract:
A wireless controller area network (CAN) bus bridge includes a CAN subsystem, a wireless communication module, and a controller coupled to the CAN subsystem and the wireless communication module. The CAN subsystem is configured to be communicatively coupled to a CAN bus to receive a CAN message from the CAN bus. The wireless communication module is operable to wirelessly communicate according to two different versions of a wireless communication protocol. The CAN subsystem is configured to provide the received CAN message to the controller. The controller is programmed to generate a binary message including the received CAN message and to provide the generated binary message to the wireless communication module for transmission from the wireless CAN bus bridge using at least one of the two different versions of the wireless communication protocol.

Abstract:
Apparatus (10) or injecting soil treatment into soil includes a handle (17) and a manifold head (16) carried by the handle (17) for delivering soil treatment into soil. The manifold head (16) has a first set of high pressure nozzles (38) each configured to deliver a first volume of soil treatment into the soil at an operating pressure over an injection period and a second set of high pressure nozzles (102) each configured to deliver a second volume of soil treatment into the soil at the operating pressure over the injection period. The second volume of soil treatment is greater than the first volume of soil treatment.
