Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of composite elements comprising a first and a second outer layer, a vacuum insulation panel between the two outer layers, rigid polyurethane foam in contact with the first outer layer and the underside of the vacuum insulation panel, and also rigid polyurethane foam in contact with the second outer layer and the upper side of the vacuum insulation panel, comprising application of a reaction mixture (R1) for the production of a rigid polyurethane foam onto the first outer layer, bringing the lower side of a vacuum insulation panel into contact with the unhardened reaction mixture (R1), application of a reaction mixture (R2) for the production of a rigid polyurethane foam to the upper side of the vacuum insulation panel, bringing the second outer layer into contact with the layer of the unhardened reaction mixture (R2), and finally hardening of the two rigid polyurethane foam systems (R1) and (R2) to give the composite element. The present invention further relates to composite elements thus obtainable, and also to the use of a composite element of the invention or of a composite element obtainable by a process of the invention, as component for refrigeration equipment or as construction material.

Abstract: A process for producing an open-cell rigid polyurethane foam involves reacting at least the components of at least one polyisocyanate, a polyol composition, and a cell opening agent. The polyol composition contains at least 30% to 75% by weight of at least one polyether polyol (b-1) having a functionality in the range of 5.0 to 7.9 and containing monomeric units derived from monosaccharides, oligosaccharides, polysaccharides, and/or sugar alcohols; >0% to 69.5% by weight of at least one polyether polyol (b-2) having an OH number in the range of >0 to 250 mg KOH/g; and at least 0.5% by weight of water. The isocyanate index is below 160 and the concentrations in % by weight for (b-1), (b-2), and water are based on the total amount of the components of the polyol composition.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for producing polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foams. The method involves reacting a composition (Z1) with at least one polyisocyanate, and occurs in the presence of at least one nucleating agent and a blowing agent, in which the nucleating agent and the blowing agent are mixed to obtain a composition (Z2) that is added to the composition (Z1) before it is reacted with the at least one polyisocyanate. The composition (Z1) contains (i) 100 parts by mass of a composition (ZP) including at least one polyol and at least one catalyst that catalyzes formation of a urethane, urea or isocyanuarate bond, and (ii) from 0.05 to 10 parts by mass of a surfactant TD having an HLB value below 6 and no silicon atom.
