摘要: A base station transmits signals on a frequency (f1) in an active transmission interval (TI) having a starting time and being part of a transmission cycle (TC) including other active transmission intervals for other frequencies (f0, f1, f2, f3) appearing in a predetermined discontinuous transmission scheme that specifies the relationship (Δ1, A2, A3) between the starting times of the active transmission intervals of the frequencies of the set. The mobile station scans the set of frequencies during a scanning cycle (SC) corresponding to the transmission cycle (TC) and determines the frequencies at which the base stations transmit. The start of each scanning is made at a point in time that is specified for the corresponding frequency by the discontinuous transmission scheme and the scanning of one frequency involves ending scanning of this frequency at the end of a time range (TR) of pre-determined length if no signal is detected within this time range.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for reducing power consumption of a receiver in a mobile communication network comprising a sender transmitting packet data on a downlink channel to one or more receivers over a radio interface. Inactive time instants and listening time instants are defined according to provided rules. The receiver is arranged to listen for information from the sender during the listening time instants and to sleep during the inactive time instants. Thus, less power will be consumed during the inactive time instants.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for scheduling resources for uplink transmissions in a radio access network comprising access points which own pre-assigned resources. The invention also relates to an access point (5-7), a user terminal (1-4) and an access point controller 8. Characteristic features of the invention are that each AP places its resources to the disposition of other APs in the access network, and that an AP (7) transmits a blocking signal (BLOCK R3) if it does not allow a UT (3), which is served by an AP (5) in another cell, to use its resources (R3). A UT that detects a blocking signal from an AP that owns the resources on which the UT is transmitting immediately stops transmission on said resources. The signal quality of a detected blocking signal may be used for setting the transmission power on the resources the UT has borrowed from the AP which transmits the blocking signal. Based on statistics on the APs which transmit blocking signals long-term pre-allocation of resources among the APs is made.

摘要: A technique for operating a network node in a heterogeneously deployed network comprising network nodes of different nominal transmit powers and at least partially overlapping coverage areas is described. A method implementation of this technique comprises a step of operating the network node in a base mode in which the network node is configured to transmit terminal-specific demodulation reference signals for a first set of terminal devices. The method comprises the further step of selectively activating or deactivating operation of the network node in a Single Frequency Network (SFN) mode in which the network node is configured to transmit, for a second set of terminal devices, the same cell-specific reference nodes as another network node of the heterogeneously deployed network that has a larger nominal transmit power.

摘要: A system and a method for wireless linking in a cellular communication system are disclosed such that a mobile station is maintained in simultaneous communication with at least a first node and a second node for access to the cellular communication system. Information going to and from the first node is not identical to the information going to and from the second node. In one embodiment the second node, or secondary access point is a relay node forwarding received information to and from the first node, or primary access point. In another embodiment the second node is another mobile station performing a direct mobile-to-mobile communication (MS-to-MS). In still an embodiment a first wireless link to the first node is for control information only. In still a further embodiment a second wireless link to the second node is only for communication of information from the mobile station or only for communication of information to the mobile station.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of sending control information from a first node to a second node in a communications system providing a plurality of resource units for the transmission of data. The control information is sent by use of a code book comprising at least one code word identifying control information relating to data transmission over a resource unit. The code book is dynamically updated by means of repeatedly transmitting an updated version of code book information from the first node to the second node. The invention also relates to a first communications node comprising means for transmitting control information to a second node. The means for transmitting control information is adapted to transmitting the control information by use of a code book; and to repeatedly transmitting an updated version of code book information in order to achieve that the code book is dynamic.

摘要: Radio resources are allocated to communication between a mobile station and a base station. The available set of radio resources may comprise radio resources primarily assigned to a neighboring cell if the 5 mobile station experience an instantaneous low level of co-channel interference from such neighboring cells. The existence of interference is preferably deduced from signal quality measurements of pilot signals. The allocation may concern uplink and/or downlink communication. Devices for performing the measurements are located in the mobile station, while devices for performing the evaluation, selection and actual allocation can be placed in different parts of the communications system—in the mobile station, in a base station or in a core network node, or as a distributed means.

摘要: The present invention relates to methods, a communication network node and a user equipment for detecting collision of physical cell identities in a communication network system comprising radio base stations each serving at least one cell through which user equipments are moving. Reference signals comprising reference symbols corresponding to a physical cell identity are sent from said radio base stations to said user equipments over a radio interface. Transmission gaps of reference symbols are inserted in the reference signal in order to perform a physical cell identity collision test. The user equipments are arranged to detect if any other radio base station is sending reference symbols corresponding to the same physical cell identity during the transmission gaps. Thereby a physical cell identity collision is detected. The reference symbol transmission gaps are fractionally distributed within said reference signal such that at least some of said reference symbols are unaffected by said reference symbol transmission gaps.
