摘要: An IMS-enabled control channel for an IPTV service is provided by receiving at a Serving Call/State Control Function (S-CSCF) a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) REGISTER message, the SIP REGISTER message identifying the originating user, receiving at the originating user a response from the S-CSCF indicating that the originating user has been authorised, and sending a SIP INVITE message from the S-CSCF to establish an open channel connection with a selected IPTV Application Server (AS). This open channel connection can then be used for the transmission of control messages, such as for starting play, starting recording, stopping play, etc., between the STB and the IPTV applications server, as well as for the delivery of personalized content, such as advertisements, voting responses, personalized voting triggers and targeted interactive events. By maintaining an open control channel with the IPTV AS, this offers a substantial reduction in the setup delay times for different applications.

The broadcast teleservice message center is connected to a circuit-switched network over an interface that uses a first messaging protocol. The broadcast teleservice message center includes an interworking function to connect the broadcast teleservice message center to a packet-switched network over an interface that uses a second messaging protocol. Broadcast teleservice messages transmitted over said first interface to mobile terminals having service with the said circuit-switched network are converted by the interworking function to a format specified by the second messaging protocol for delivery over the packet-switched network to mobile terminals having service with the packet-switched network.

摘要: A method and apparatus for performing over-the-air activation for wireless communications service subscriptions within a wireless communications system. The method includes providing a plurality of subscription modules each having a unique identifier that corresponds to a plurality of non-activated service subscriptions. An activation period is established for each of the non-activated service subscriptions within which the corresponding subscriptions must be activated or deleted from the system. A list of unique identifiers and their associated activation periods is stored in the wireless communications system. To activate the subscription, a subscription module is mated with a mobile equipment device. An over-the-air activation request is transmitted to the wireless communications system that includes the unique identifier associated with said selected subscription module. The service subscription associated with the unique identifier is activated when the unique identifier is stored on the list and the activation period is valid.

摘要: A method and apparatus for transmitting a location service message between a location server and a mobile station or LMU in a GPRS wireless communications system. The location server generates a location service message and transmits the location service message to a base station subsystem; the base station subsystem forwards the location service message to a serving GPRS support node; the serving GPRS support node then forwards the location service message to a mobile station or LMU), passing transparently back through the base station subsystem. This approach to system routing of location messages allows existing circuit-switched wireless communications systems to support location services in a GPRS environment with a minimum of alterations to existing hardware and software protocols.

摘要: The present invention concerns polymer particle vaccine delivery systems in which a water insoluble protein antigen, e.g. a lipidated HpaA protein, is incorporated with particles comprising a polymer matrix. The present invention also concerns a method for incorporating such a water insoluble protein antigen with a polymer matrix in order to produce a polymer particle vaccine delivery system. In addition, the invention also provides a vaccine composition comprising the polymer particle delivery system. The vaccine can be used to treat and/or reduce the risk of for example Helicobacter infection.

摘要: Determining the position of a mobile terminal operating in a packet-switched communications system based on timing advance values obtained through network initiated artificial cell hops. The mobile terminal may be instructed to perform a series of artificial cell changes so that timing advance values may be obtained for the mobile terminal with respect to a plurality of base stations. The position of the mobile terminal is then determined based on the timing advance values, optionally supplemented by signal strength measurements. The mobile terminal may contact a network entity via the base station in each cell before being instructed to change to the next base station. Or, the mobile terminal may be supplied with a list of base stations to contact, with the mobile terminal transmitting short access bursts to the base station in a given cell before automatically tuning to the next cell, without waiting for an acknowledgement.

摘要: A method of activating a mobile station used in a cellular network system provides subsidy protection for a cellular operator. The method comprises the steps of installing a subscriber identity module (SIM) in the mobile station, the SIM having an IMSI file and storing the first indicia uniquely identifying the cellular operator, the mobile station storing second indicia uniquely identifying the cellular operator; comparing the first indicia to the second indicia to determine if the SIM and the mobile station are valid for the cellular operator; and if the SIM and the mobile station are valid, then storing a mobile identity number in the IMSI file of the SIM.
