摘要: A needle for collecting a tissue samples includes a needle body extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end including a sharp tip for penetrating a target tissue. The needle body includes a channel extending therethrough for collecting a tissue sample therein when the distal end is inserted into the target tissue. A distal portion of the needle body has a first stiffness and a proximal portion of the body has a second stiffness of the proximal portion less than the first stiffness. The needle also includes a sleeve extending along a length of the needle body to cover the pattern along the proximal portion.

摘要: A medical stent may include a tubular support structure including a plurality of struts defining a plurality of cells disposed between the plurality of struts. A polymeric coating may be disposed over the tubular support structure such that a first portion of the plurality of cells are closed by the polymeric coating in a first region of the tubular support structure and a second portion of the plurality of cells in a second region of the tubular support structure remain open to fluid flow and/or tissue ingrowth therethrough. The struts in the first region of the tubular support structure and the struts in the second region of the tubular support structure may be at least partially covered by the polymeric coating.

摘要: Compositions, e.g., gels, useful for tissue resection procedures, medical devices comprising the compositions, and related methods of preparing the compositions are discussed. The composition may comprise gellan gum, two or more salts, and water. In some aspects, the composition may be prepared by combining gellan gum and water to form a pre-mixture, heating the pre-mixture, adding two or more salts to the heated pre-mixture to form a mixture, introducing the mixture into a reservoir, and allowing the mixture to form a gel inside the reservoir. The gel may have a continuous, three-dimensional structure, and have desired gel strength and viscosity. The composition may be biocompatible and injectable from the reservoir through a needle to the target site of a patient.

摘要: A medical device comprising a syringe barrel, a plunger, and an injectable gel containing a coloring agent loaded in the syringe barrel. The injectable gel is sterilized by a sterilization process, such as an autoclaving process, while inside the syringe barrel. The injectable gel is adapted for injection between an upper mucosal layer and a lower layer at a target treatment site such that the upper mucosal layer separates from the lower layer and the upper mucosal layer is elevated. Also described herein are methods of forming the injectable gel.
