摘要: The present invention provides devices and methods for clearly and consistently marking a patient prior to a procedure. In particular, the invention provides a temporary tattoo for marking a patient at a site of a procedure. The tattoo may indicate any information that would be helpful to a medical practitioner clearly and consistently mark a patient for a procedure. In some embodiments, the tattoo may indicate types of information including, but not limited to, information indicative of the laterality of the procedure, the type of procedure, the medical practitioner, the institution, or the department. In certain embodiments, the tattoo may indicate the location of the procedure with a “yes”. In other embodiments, the invention provides a method for marking a patient at the site of a procedure.

摘要: A method and system for ultrasound treatment of acne and sebaceous glands are provided. An exemplary method and system are configured for targeted treatment of sebaceous glands in various manners, such as through use of therapy only, therapy and monitoring, imaging and therapy, or therapy, imaging, and monitoring, and/or through use of focused, unfocused, or defocused ultrasound at various spatial and temporal energy settings. An exemplary method and system can be configured to produce regions of heating and damage by destroying the function of sebaceous glands within a user-specified treatment layer depth associated with the glands to be treated. In addition, an exemplary method and system can be configured to produce regions of heating and damage within the treatment layer in spatially defined patterns, rather than heating and destroying the entire volume of the target layer of tissue. Further, an exemplary method and system can be configured to specifically aim such regions of heating and damage within the treatment layer, to occur at the same location as the secretory portion of sebaceous glands.

摘要: A handheld device for sensing and indicating the location of a blood vessel, and marking the skin adjacent to the blood vessel. The operation of the device is based on determining the difference in signal transfer amplitude between two partially overlapping infrared light paths, and moving the device until this difference is zeroed. The sensitivity of the device is enhanced by having an angle in each infrared light path such that the infrared light is primarily reflected, rather than absorbed, by the blood vessel.

摘要: A system is provided for marking on a recording medium (36), such as a label, the location of imaged tissue with respect to an exposed surface of the tissue (34). Tissue is imaged by a microscope (11) capable of imaging sections of the tissue below the exposed tissue surface through optics. A ring (32) applied to the surface of the tissue stabilizes the tissue to the optics and localizes a portion of tissue surface through an aperture in the ring. An actuator (38) is connected to both the ring and the microscope for moving the ring to adjust the position of the tissue with respect to the optics, thereby allowing an operator of the system to survey different images of tissue sections with the microscope.

摘要: A measurement condition setting fixture 2 is secured to a measurement site 1 of a living body prior to the measurement. At the time of measurement, a light irradiation section 3 and a light receiving section 5 of a measuring optical system are respectively attached and secured to a light irradiation section securing section 10 and a light receiving section securing section 11 of the measurement condition setting fixture 2. Thus, the measurement site 1 and the measuring optical system are secured to each other, and desirable measurement conditions can be realized. Moreover, the measurement conditions can be maintained throughout the measurement. After the measurement is completed, the measurement site 1 can be removed from the measuring optical system by detaching the light irradiation section 3 and the light receiving section 5 from the light irradiation section securing section 10 and the light receiving section securing section 11. When the measurement is performed again, the desirable measurement conditions can be reproduced merely by attaching the light irradiation section 3 and the light receiving section 5 to the light irradiation section securing section 10 and the light receiving section securing section 11.
