摘要: A frequency offset estimator (400) and corresponding method (600) provides a frequency offset estimate (415) for an OFDM signal. The estimator comprises a data parser (403) coupled to an input signal (401) and arranged to select a group of symbols (305-311) or corresponding samples corresponding to predetermined symbols from the input signal and a processor (405) arranged to provide a correlation corresponding to the symbols, where the correlation corresponds to a frequency offset estimation for the input signal and is determined in a sequential fashion so that the correlation is provided concurrently with the last symbol or sample of the group of symbols to be selected.

摘要: System for dynamic registration of privileged mode hooks in a device. The system includes a method for dynamically registering a function in a device that includes at least two operating modes comprising a privileged mode and a non-privileged mode. The method comprises identifying an available slot in a data structure that maps identifiers to functions, and storing a pointer associated with the function in the slot. The method also comprises retrieving an identifier that is associated with the slot, and making the identifier accessible to non-privileged applications.

摘要: An apparatus for treating a heart includes a housing member having a plurality of elongate channels defined therein and is movable between a first collapsed position and a second expanded position. A tissue attachment member is positioned in each channel. In one aspect, the apparatus is adapted for performing an anastomosis and includes a housing member having a plurality of elongate channels defined therein and which is movable between a fist collapsed position and a second expanded position. A surgical clip is positioned in each channel. A clip deployment mechanism projects the clips from their respective housings and a registration member approximates and aligns the first and second tubular structures. In a further aspect, helical barbs are movably affixed within sleeves formed on a sheetg of biocompatible material adapted for placement within a heart ventricle. Methods for treating a heart and reducing the volume of a heart ventricle are also provided. In a still further aspect, helical barbs provide attachment for patches for closure of a wound site or for suturing of a site needing closure. In yet another aspect of the invention, the helical barbs provide an attachment regine for implantable devices, as a well as a means to deliver medically efficacious materials to chosen sites with secure means. The helical device of the present invention further serves as a stent.

摘要: Fluorocarbon blowing agent compatible polyol blends are provided comprising reaction products of a combination of (a) a residue from the manufacture of dimethyl terephthalate, (b) a low molecular weight diol compound, (c) a nonionic surfactant compound, (d) optionally a hydrophobic compound, and (e) optionally a polybasic carboxylic acid compound. These polyol blends are produced by a simple heating process and are thereafter optionally blendable with various conventional polyols and other additives (including fluorocarbons and catalysts) to make resin prepolymer blends. Such resin blends can be catalytically reacted with organic isocyanates to produce cellular polyurethanes and polyurethane/polyisocyanurates.

摘要: System for invoking a privileged function in a device. The system includes a method that allows an application to invoke a function on a device, wherein the device includes at least two operating modes comprising a privileged mode and a non-privileged mode, and the function executes in the privileged mode. The method includes receiving a request from the application to invoke the function and determining the operating mode of the application. The method also includes invoking the function using an interrupt, if the application is executing in the non-privileged mode, wherein the function is executed within the same task as the application. The method also includes invoking the function directly, if the application is executing in the privileged mode.

摘要: A system, method and computer program for establishing communication between a peripheral device and programs resident on a wireless computer device. The device has a computer platform with a wireless communication portal and one or more resident programs, and the computer platform includes an operating system that manages wireless device resources and the interaction of the wireless device with other computer devices. When a peripheral device selectively communicates with the computer platform of the wireless device via a wired or wireless communication, the operating system of the wireless device identifies at least the type of peripheral device and links the peripheral device with one or more of the resident computer programs.
