    摘要: A process for the preparation of an olefin polymerization catalyst component which comprises contacting a solid composition obtained by combining a magnesium halide, an electron donor and a tetravalent titanium compound, this composition being substantially free from aluminum compounds, with a liquid medium comprising a halide of B, Al, Ga, In, Tl, Sn or Sb, these elements being present in their highest valency state or a halide of tetravalent Te, and removing from the catalyst component substantially all metal halide originating from the liquid medium as by washing the catalyst component with a hydrocarbon or halohydrocarbon liquid.

    摘要: Renewable oils are converted to aromatics, by contact with a catalytically-active form of gallium, for use in the petrochemical industry and/or for fuel blending components or additives. The renewable oil(s) feature high oxygen content, high H/C mole ratios, and high fatty acid or fatty acid ester content prior to heating and contact with the catalyst. The catalyst may be, for example, a gallium-doped version of one or more zeolite-alumina matrix catalysts with pore sizes having 10 oxygen atoms in the pore mouth, such as ZSM-5, ZSM-11, ZSM-23, MCM-70, SSZ-44, SSZ-58, SSZ-35, and ZSM-22. Aromatics-production from the renewable oils is enhanced at higher gallium-cation levels, with the preferred level being about 1.0 Ga/framework-Al. While various renewable oils, or “bio-oils,” may be used, algae oil has exhibited very high BTEX yields over the gallium cation catalyst, under conditions at or near 1 atm and approximately 400 degrees C.

In other embodiments of the present invention, a process for producing a biodiesel comprises distilling a biodiesel reaction product to remove tocopherols and sterol glucosides and, optionally, adding biodiesel stabilizers to the resultant biodiesel to enhance thermal stability. The components of the system are interrelated so that parameters may be regulated to allow production of a custom biodiesel product.

    摘要: Aldehyde-telechelic polyisobutylenes free of other end groups such as alcohols, olefins, etc., are made by the hydroformylation of polyisobutylene having one or more olefinic end groups in the presence of a rhodium catalyst in combination with an organic phosphorus ligand. Very high conversions of olefin to aldehyde are obtained. Depending upon the number of aldehyde end groups per macromolecule, the telechelic polyisobutylene polymers can be utilized as precursors to form various types of block copolymers, e.g., AB, ABA, or radial block copolymers, with other polymers such as polyurethanes, polyesters, polyamines, and the like.
