    摘要: The projector of the present invention provides a means for interactively displaying and annotating a document image at two separate locations. The projector consists of an image plate having an array of picture elements for displaying the image; a projection mechanism for projecting the image displayed by the image plate onto a projection screen; and a digitizer having a coordinate input array which corresponds to the array of picture elements of the image plate, wherein the image displayed by the image plate changes in response to coordinate inputs to the digitizer. A method for interactively annotating an image communicated between a remote and local image includes the procedure of simultaneously transmitting to the remote projector, annotations made to an image in the local projector. Image enhancement means are provided including an overlap-region calibration, a set of cross-polarizers, a high-intensity strobed flash lamp using interlaced scanning, sub-divided picture elements, and automatic gain correction.

    摘要: A polarization converter for polarizing a light beam by converting all light waves to the same orientation comprises 1) a first beam dividing matrix of refractory material for dividing a single, large light beam into smaller sub-beam 2) a second beam focusing matrix for polarizing select portions of the sub-beams, and 3) a series of narrow and shallow polarizing cells. The second beam focusing matrix further comprises a plurality of concave lenses for redirecting each sub-beam and quarter wave retarders disposed in alignment with, and adjacent to, the reflective side of an equal plurality of mirror segments. The polarizing cells include either a first beamsplitter or a second beamsplitter, where the first beamsplitters and second beamsplitters are disposed in opposing diagonal fashion and in an alternating manner. Lightwaves of a selected polarization pass directly through the first beamsplitter and out of the polarizing cell, while all other lightwaves are horizontally reflected by the first beamsplitter and directed onto the second beamsplitter where they are redirected toward the quarter wave retarder. The reflected light passes through the quarter wave retarder, reflects off of the mirror and again passes through the quarter wave retarder. The wavelength of the light is retarded ninety degrees as a result of the two passes through the quarter-wave retarder, thus re-orienting the light to the selected orientation. The re-oriented p-waves pass through the second beamsplitter and exit the polarizing cell, join the original p-waves exiting the polarizing cells, and form a beam of polarized light.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for creating a dynamic image on a television receiver display screen reflecting mood and character of music. Methods of pattern generation and color modulation are described. The pattern as seen by a viewer is a derived X-Y coordinate plot. The invention contemplates a format translator which is defined as a memory that samples an audio waveform periodically, determines the screen position corresponding to each sample, and stores video pulses in memory locations corresponding to those screen positions. The memory is then read in a line-by-line format for television display. The memory is thus written into in an X-Y format and read out in a raster scan format. Symmetry and variable image change rate can be employed in order to produce a pattern with pleasing effects. Image color is varied by shifting the phase of the chrominance sub-carrier as a function of the music envelope. Image color and intensity formation are then combined in an output mixer to produce a standard composite video output signal.
