    摘要: Disclosed is a system and method for calculating an intra-period volatility of a security. The system includes a means for collecting tick or selected time interval data from a data source, an interface or storage means for collecting or retrieving assumptions and variables used in the determination, and a processor programmed to perform iterative processes to determine the intra-period volatility and perform uses thereof. The steps of the method include receiving tick or selected time interval data from a data source, retrieving or inputting a set of assumptions for use in the calculations, simulating entering into a spread of options, and iteratively adjusting a variable in a pricing model to produce an intra-period volatility. The method may also include using the intra-period volatility in variety of option-related activities.

    摘要: Drupaceous fruit pieces, including fruit flesh with and without pit matter adhering to the flesh as well as loose pits and pit pieces themselves, are passed through an integrated system of multiple sorting units utilizing different sorting methodologies. The sorting units include a laser-based sorting unit that sorts according to differences in light scattering, a diode-based sorting unit that sorts according to differences in light reflectance, and in certain embodiments a camera-based sorting unit that sorts according to differences in color. The system also includes an impact separator that dislodges pit material from fruit flesh from which the pit material has not been dislodged by any preceding units, most notably by pitting machinery through which the fruit has passed prior to entering the system of the invention.

By controlling the extraction parameters and stopping the extraction before all of the kavalactones have been extracted or allowing the extracted kavalactones to be preferentially precipitated in one or more collection environments, a processed kava product can be produced that has a kavalactone distribution profile that can differ substantially from that of the source material. As a result, roots from a less desirable kava cultivar can be used to produce a processed kava product which has a kavalactone distribution profile that is similar to that of a highly desired cultivar. A material having a preferred kavalactone distribution profile is also disclosed. The kava paste can be further processed to produce a dry flowable powder suitable for use in, e.g., a tableting formula.
