摘要: The present invention relates to the field of GABA receptor structure and function. In one aspect, the present invention relates to impairment of the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors in parasitic nematodes, for the purpose of crop protection and/or soil treatment. The invention includes mutated nematode GABA receptor subunits, nematode GABA neuromuscular junction receptor complexes, nucleic acids which encode the mutated and functional receptor complexes, antibodies which selectively bind the GABA receptor complexes and/or subunits, and assays for compounds which adversely affect nematode GABA neuromuscular junction receptor function. The present invention therefore relates broadly to recombinant DNA technology, molecular biology tools, and crop protection and/or soil treatment.

摘要: An optical microscope (101) with heightened resolution and capable of providing three dimensional images is disclosed and described. The microscope (101) can include a sample stage (160) for mounting a sample having a plurality of probe molecules. At least one non-coherent light source (127) can be provided. At least one lens (140a, 140b) can be configured to direct a beam of light from the at least one non-coherent light source (127) toward the sample causing the probe molecules to luminesce. A camera (155) can be configured to detect luminescence from the probe molecules. A light beam path modification module (132, 150) can be configured to alter a path length of the probe molecule luminescence to allow camera luminescence detection at a plurality of object planes.

摘要: A systemic fungicide and method of application to trees subject to the Dutch elm disease fungus and other fungus diseases wherein the fungicide material used is a water-soluble derivative of methyl-2-benzimidazole carbamate (BCM) and the method of introduction is a positive pressure root injection method. Examples of the water-soluble derivatives are chloride, sulphate, phosphate, nitrate, and sodio derivatives of BCM. The injection method is achieved by severing one or more roots below ground level and applying the fungicide solution to the severed root end under pressure via suitable tubulation.

摘要: The invention provides a catheter, which can be introduced into the coronary arteries over two or more wires. The catheter can be used for coronary, as well as for peripheral angioplasty, in particular near bifurcations. The catheter is of the rapid-exchange or over-the-wire type. The catheter allows procedures, in which two or more wires are introduced into the different branches of a bifurcation prior to positioning a stent proximal to the bifurcation. The wires are fully functional through the interior passage of the stent after its positioning. The procedure allows angioplasty of the distal vessels of the bifurcation without training or repositioning of the wires. The catheter thus avoids the problem of wire trapping between the stent and the artery wall. According to a method of the invention, a first stents is first positioned in the principal vessel and further conventional stents are positioned in the branches of the bifurcation with their proximal ends parts residing inside the first stent in the principal vessel.
