    Abstract: A transluminal sheath is advanced transfemorally into a left atrium of a heart of the subject. A surrounding-sheath is advanced out of a distal end of the transluminal sheath, into the atrium, and toward a commissure of the mitral valve. A helix is implanted at the mitral valve by advancing the helix out of the surrounding-sheath and through the commissure into a left ventricle of the subject, such that the helix wraps around at least some chordae tendineae of the mitral valve. A prosthetic valve is collapsed into a collapsed state, and subsequently to implanting the helix and collapsing the prosthetic valve, the prosthetic valve is advanced, in its collapsed state, through the transluminal sheath to the mitral valve. The prosthetic valve is implanted in the mitral valve by expanding it such that the helix facilitates anchoring of the prosthetic valve and sealing of the commissure.

    Abstract: Implantable first atrial and ventricular arms are articulatable at a first articulation site to clamp a first heart valve leaflet. A first elongate transitioning member is (a) connected at a fixed connection point at a portion of the first ventricular arm farthest from the first articulation site, (b) has a portion that faces an opposite surface of the first ventricular arm, and (c) is controllable to move the first ventricular arm. Implantable second atrial and ventricular arms are articulatable at a second articulation site to clamp a second leaflet. A second elongate transitioning member is (a) connected at a fixed connection point at a portion of the second ventricular arm farthest from the second articulation site, (b) has a portion that faces an opposite surface of the second ventricular arm, and (c) is controllable to move the second ventricular arm.     Abstract: An implant is coupled to first and second native leaflets of a native heart valve of a patient. The implant includes a proximal collar, a distal collar, and first and second clasps. Each of the clasps has first and second tissue-engaging portions that are (1) disposed distal to the proximal collar and proximal to the distal collar, and (2) movable, with respect to each other, to clamp one of the leaflets between the tissue-engaging portions of the clasp. The implant is configured such that, when the leaflets are clamped by the clasps, the clasps form the first and second native leaflets into a double orifice, each orifice configured to function as a respective check-valve. Fabric extends distally from the proximal collar on either side of the central longitudinal axis, and is coupled to the clasps. Other embodiments are also described.

    Abstract: An implant is configured to be coupled to first and second native leaflets of a native heart valve of a patient.     Abstract: A method includes advancing apparatus including a core toward a patient's heart valve. The core tapers in a distal direction toward the smallest perimeter of the core. The apparatus includes a first ventricular arm, which is articulatable with respect to a first atrial arm at a first articulation site, and a second ventricular arm, which is articulatable with respect to a second atrial arm at a second articulation site. The articulation sites are adjacent to the smallest perimeter. The tapering of the core defines a minimum nonzero angle of the atrial arms with respect to a central longitudinal axis of the core. The method also includes clamping the first and second leaflets between the respective atrial arms and the respective ventricular arms. Other embodiments are also described.

    Abstract: An apparatus for use with a prosthetic heart valve at a native heart valve comprises an adjustable-lumen prosthetic valve support. In a delivery state, the prosthetic valve support is transluminally deliverable to the heart. The prosthetic valve support is transitionable, within the heart, into an implantation state for implantation at the native valve. In the implantation state, the prosthetic valve support has an inner edge that defines a lumen through the prosthetic valve support, the lumen having a first diameter. After the prosthetic valve support is implanted at the native valve, the prosthetic valve support is transitionable into an enlarged state in which the lumen has a second diameter that is greater than the first diameter. In the enlarged state, the prosthetic valve support is configured to support, at the native valve, the prosthetic heart valve within the lumen.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to prosthetic heart valves and methods of use thereof. In one implementation, a prosthetic heart valve may include an annular spacer having a spacer opening therein and a disc-shaped wall configured to obstruct blood flow. The annular spacer may be configured for engaging with a native heart valve opening, such as the orifice of a mitral valve. The spacer opening may be sized to be smaller than the native heart valve opening. The prosthetic heart valve may also include a central valve section configured for disposal within the spacer opening. The central valve section may be separate from the annular spacer and may include one or more prosthetic valve leaflets.
