    Abstract: A serving gateway updates location information for a mobile device based on information in an update bearer request. The serving gateway receives a first update bearer request for a mobile device. The first update bearer request includes a first address associated with a micro cellular service base station to which the mobile device is in communication. The micro cellular service base station is associated with a physical location. The serving gateway sends a location notification to a location server, indicating that the mobile device is physically near the micro cellular service base station. The serving gateway receives a second update bearer request for the mobile device including an address associated with a macro cellular service base station. The serving gateway sends another location notification to the location server indicating that the mobile device is no longer at the physical location of the micro cellular service base station.

    Abstract: In an example, there is disclosed a method of operating a long-term evolution (LTE) network device, including: communicatively coupling to a public data network gateway (PGW); providing an LTE function; receiving an incoming packet; looking up a destination of the incoming packet on a tunneling table including a tunneling endpoint identifier (TEID) and an internet protocol (IP) address; determining that the destination of the incoming packet is reachable via a route shorter than traversing the PGW; and routing the packet via the shorter route, comprising cutting through a tunnel for the packet. There is also disclosed an apparatus and a computer-readable medium for performing the method.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a method comprises: receiving, by a requestor device in a data network, authentication request parameters for generating a secured request for a data object, the authentication request parameters comprising a shared encryption key and a prescribed update time interval value; generating, by the requestor device, the secured request based on generating a reduced-resolution time value by dividing a current device timestamp value of the requestor device by the prescribed update time interval value, and encrypting the reduced-resolution time value using the shared encryption key; and outputting, by the requestor device, the secured request specifying an object name identifying the data object and the encrypted reduced-resolution time value, enabling a content supplier device to authenticate the secured request based on determining whether the reduced-resolution time value, multiplied by the prescribed update time interval, substantially matches a corresponding timestamp value of the content supplier device.
