摘要: Disclosed herein are glass pharmaceutical vials having sidewalls of reduced thickness. In embodiments, the glass pharmaceutical vial may include a glass body comprising a sidewall enclosing an interior volume. An outer diameter D of the glass body is equal to a diameter d1 of a glass vial of size X as defined by ISO 8362-1, wherein X is one of 2R, 3R, 4R, 6R, 8R, 10R, 15R, 20R, 25R, 30R, 50R, and 100R as defined by ISO 8362-1. However, the sidewall of the glass pharmaceutical vial comprises an average wall thickness Ti that is less than or equal to 0.85*s1, wherein s1 is a wall thickness of the glass vial of size X as defined by ISO 8362-1 and X is one of 2R, 3R, 4R, 6R, 8R, 10R, 15R, 20R, 25R, 30R, 50R, and 100R as defined by ISO 8362-1.

摘要: A stack assembly is provided that includes a glass layer having a thickness, a first and second primary surface and a compressive stress region extending from the second primary surface to a first depth; and a second layer coupled to the second primary surface. The glass layer is characterized by: an absence of failure when the layer is held at a bend radius from about 3 to 20 mm, a puncture resistance of greater than about 1.5 kgf when the second primary surface is supported by (i) an ˜25 μm thick PSA and (ii) an ˜50 μm thick PET layer, and the first primary surface is loaded with a stainless steel pin having a flat bottom with a 200 μm diameter, a pencil hardness of at least 8H, and a neutral axis within the glass layer located between the second primary surface and half of the first thickness.

摘要: A method of selecting a radius of curvature for a conveying structure (22) of a continuous glass processing apparatus for processing a flexible glass ribbon (20) having a thickness of no more than about 0.3 mm is provided. The method includes identifying a thickness of the flexible glass ribbon (20). A predetermined bending stress level is selected that is suitable for the flexible glass ribbon (20) during the processing of the flexible glass ribbon. A radius (R) of curvature is selected for a conveying structure that is suitable for conveying the flexible glass ribbon (20) during the processing of the flexible glass ribbon through the glass processing apparatus based on the predetermined bending stress and at least one of web deflection angle and line tension. The glass processing apparatus is provided including the conveying structure.

摘要: A glass cartridge comprises a cylindrical body portion comprising an outer diameter Dc and an average sidewall thickness Tc, the cylindrical body portion having a first end and a second end opposite the first end; an opening at the first end of the cylindrical body portion; a shoulder extending radially inward from the second end of the cylindrical body portion; and a neck extending from the shoulder and comprising an outer neck diameter NOD that is less than the outer diameter Dc of the cylindrical body portion. The average wall thickness Tc is less than or equal to 0.85*s1, wherein s1 is a wall thickness of a standard glass cartridge defined by ISO 13926-1:2004 having an outer diameter d1 that is closer to the outer diameter Dc than the outer diameter d1 of any other standard glass cartridge defined by ISO 13926-1:2004.

摘要: A pharmaceutical container comprises a glass body enclosing an interior volume of the pharmaceutical container. The glass body comprises a central axis extending through a geometric center of the interior volume, a wall thickness extending between an inner surface and an outer surface, a flange comprising an underside surface, a shoulder, and a neck extending between the flange and the shoulder. Within at least a portion of the neck, the outer surface extends inward toward the central axis such that at least a sloped portion of the outer surface is sloped inward towards the central axis adjacent the flange.
