Abstract: A system for controlling an overtake maneuver of a control vehicle comprises a controller structured to determine an overtake velocity for the control vehicle traveling in a vehicle lane to overtake a front vehicle traveling ahead of the control vehicle in the vehicle lane. The controller determines an overtake time for the control vehicle to overtake the front vehicle based on the overtake velocity. The controller determines a direction of traffic in an overtake lane that is adjacent to the vehicle lane. If the direction of traffic in the overtake lane is the same as a direction of traffic in the vehicle lane, and the overtake velocity is less than or equal to an allowed velocity, the controller executes the overtake maneuver by one of adjusting a parameter of an engine and/or a transmission of the control vehicle or providing a command to an operator of the control vehicle.

Abstract: An aftertreatment system comprises a first passageway having a first temperature and a second passageway having a second temperature different than the first temperature. A turbine is disposed downstream from the first passageway and upstream from the second passageway. The turbine is in fluidic communication with the first passageway and the second passageway. The turbine is structured to receive an exhaust gas from the first passageway, generate energy using the exhaust gas flowing through the turbine and communicate the exhaust gas to the second passageway. The aftertreatment system also includes an insertion device structured to insert an exhaust reductant into the first passageway. A selective catalytic reduction system is configured to receive the exhaust gas from the second passageway and treat the exhaust gas. The first temperature can be higher than the second temperature.

Abstract: A system for controlling an overtake maneuver of a control vehicle includes a controller. The controller is structured to: receive at least one overtake parameter associated with a control vehicle for overtaking a front vehicle in a vehicle lane; receive an indication of a direction of traffic in an overtake lane that is adjacent to the vehicle lane; receive an indication that the at least one overtake parameter satisfies at least one condition according to the direction of the traffic in the overtake lane; and in response to the at least one overtake parameter satisfying the at least one condition according to the direction of traffic in the overtake lane, execute an overtake maneuver by adjusting at least one parameter of the control vehicle or providing a command to an operator of the control vehicle to execute the overtake maneuver.

Abstract: Systems and methods for triggering and issuing safety warnings, including a risk-assessment system that collects movement data pertaining to each of a plurality of subsystems including one or more slow-moving subsystems (SMSSs) and/or one or more fast-moving subsystems (FMSSs). The risk-assessment system identifies, based at least in part on the collected movement data, an instance in which each of a set of warning-triggering conditions is true. The set includes (i) that a likelihood of a collision occurring among an identified subset of the plurality of subsystems is greater than a collision-probability threshold and (ii) that at least one of the subsystems in the identified subset has at least one current movement anomaly.
