Abstract: The disclosure provides a vehicle control device and method for controlling a vehicle. The vehicle control device includes a gear shift member, having a parking brake keeping a vehicle in a stationary state, a drive gear keeping driving the vehicle, and a park gear keeping the vehicle in a parked state; a control switch configured to be able to control the parking brake and shift to the park gear; a control member performing following controls when the vehicle is in the parked state: when the control switch is operated for a period of time shorter than a prescribed time, the control member shifts to the park gear and executes linked parking that links an operation of the parking brake, and during the execution of the linked parking, when the control switch is operated for a period of time longer than the prescribed time, the control member releases the parking brake.

Abstract: It is determined whether fuel efficiency of a vehicle is improved by operating a first rotating machine to generate electricity to such an extent that an electrical path amount becomes a desired electrical path amount for controlling an operating point of an engine to a desired operating point and driving and operating a second rotating machine as a second power source, the electrical path amount being a magnitude of electric power in an electrical path through which the electric power is transferred between the first rotating machine and the second rotating machine. When the electronic control device determines that the fuel efficiency of the vehicle is improved, the first rotating machine is operated to generate electricity to such an extent that the electrical path amount becomes the desired electrical path amount and the second rotating machine is driven and operated as the second power source.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for controlling and diagnosing a mechanical vehicle component. In one example, a method may include determining a vehicle speed and a plurality of clutch position settings at a diagnostic controller, and identifying unauthorized conditions based on these determinations. Further, the diagnostic controller may trigger an active fault state of the mechanical vehicle component in order to avoid unauthorized conditions that may lead to unwanted or unanticipated changes in vehicle motion.

Abstract: A framework for safely operating autonomous machinery, such as vehicles and other heavy equipment, in an in-field or off-road environment, includes detecting, identifying, classifying and tracking objects and/or terrain characteristics from on-board sensors that capture images in front and around the autonomous machinery as it performs agricultural or other activities. The framework generates commands for navigational control of the autonomous machinery in response to perceived objects and terrain impacting safe operation. The framework processes image data and range data in multiple fields of view around the autonomous equipment to discern objects and terrain, and applies artificial intelligence techniques in one or more neural networks to accurately interpret this data for enabling such safe operation.

Abstract: Implementations described herein relate to leveraging corresponding streams of speed readings of a vehicle generated by different speed sensors of different computing devices to automatically determine an updated tire size of tires of the vehicle. For example, while a user of the vehicle is driving, a first stream of speed readings can be generated by a vehicle speed sensor of an in-vehicle computing device of the vehicle and a second stream of speed readings can be generated by a mobile speed sensor of a mobile computing device of the user of the vehicle. Processor(s) can obtain the different streams of speed readings from the different computing devices and process the different streams using various operations to determine the update tire size of the tires of the vehicle. The updated tire size can be subsequently utilized to update operational parameter(s) of the vehicle that influence how the vehicle operates.

Abstract: A transmission assembly for a work vehicle having an engine includes a variator operably connected to the engine, a gear arrangement configured to provide a selective gear reduction for transmission of output power from the variator to an output shaft, and an electrical machine unit. The electrical machine unit further includes a main shaft operably connected to the variator, a first rotor configured to rotatably drive a first shaft, a second rotor configured to rotatably drive a second shaft, and a clutch configured to selectively couple the first shaft or the second shaft, or both the first shaft and the second shaft, to the main shaft. The clutch, the first rotor, and the second rotor are operable to control a speed and rotational direction of the main shaft in providing rotational power to the variator.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a vehicle hill control. An example of a method may include during a vehicle stopped condition, operating with a clutch of a transmission engaged to mechanically lock the transmission, the transmission having a plurality of power inputs including receiving input from an electric machine and a prime mover; releasing at least one of the clutch or a service brake, and while releasing, concurrently adjusting an output magnitude of the electric machine responsive to speed control to control to a zero vehicle speed. In some examples, the method may further include learning a torque output of the electric machine required to maintain the zero vehicle speed upon fully releasing the clutch or service brake. In an example, the method may include estimating a road grade based on the learned torque output.

The vehicle includes an engine unit, a transmission unit adapted to selectively couple with the engine unit and also configured to transmit the power generated by the engine unit, a first motor generator coupled with the transmission unit, an output unit, a power switching device, a second motor generator configured to drive at least one of front and rear wheels, and a power battery that is respectively connected to the first motor generator and the second motor generator. The method includes: acquiring an operating mode of a vehicle and an operating parameter of the vehicle; and controlling an engine unit according to an operating parameter and an operating mode to start or stop.
