    摘要: A method is described, the method comprising scanning for a Bluetooth Low Energy data signal, and if a Bluetooth Low Energy data signal is detected, responding to detection of the Bluetooth Low Energy data signal by suspending the performance of wireless network discovery procedures in respect of at least one network operating using a protocol other than Bluetooth Low Energy. Also described is a method comprising causing generation and transmission of a Bluetooth Low Energy data signal, the generated and transmitted Bluetooth Low Energy data signal indicating the absence of at least one network which operates using a protocol other than Bluetooth Low Energy. Also described are apparatus, computer-readable code, and non-transitory computer-readable memory media having computer readable code stored thereon for causing performance of one or both of the methods.

In example embodiments, a method comprises receiving a wireless broadcast message including a message ID and an associated distributor address; buffering the received wireless broadcast message and starting an observation window timer for the message if the message ID of the received wireless broadcast message is not stored in a database of message IDs and associated distributor addresses for previously received wireless broadcast messages; calculating a relaying probability for the received wireless broadcast message, based on a number of distributor address entries associated with the message ID in the database, the entries resulting from receiving other wireless broadcast messages having the same message ID during the observation window; transmitting the buffered message following termination of the observation window, based on the calculated relaying probability; and starting a cooling window timer upon termination of the observation window and removing all records containing the message ID from the database following termination of the cooling window.

    摘要: A host processing apparatus (100) and a user removable memory (40) are disclosed. The host processing apparatus (100) and the user removable memory (40) are, in use, connected to one another by respective connectors. The user removable memory (40) is provided in the form of a secure digital (SD) memory card with an expanded subscriber identity module (SIM) function. The host processing apparatus (100) is configured to convert SIM- related request signals to file access signals which identify a location or locations on the user removable memory (40) and one or more file access functions. The file access signals are transferred to the user removable memory (40) via the connectors. The user removable memory (40) comprises a flash memory (59), a SIM (42) programmed with data associated with a communications system, and interface means (52) for receiving the file access signals from the host processing apparatus (100), and configured to identify from the location(s) therein whether a memory or SIM function is to be applied. If the latter, the received file access function(s) are converted to SIM function(s) which are applied to the SIM (42) for transferring results back to the host processing apparatus (100).
