摘要: An improved, selective, radiation sensing device is provided which includes a thin strip of pyroelectric material. One side of the material is coated with a continuous layer of metallic material to form an electrode while the opposite side is coated with at least a pair of electrodes and the output of the electrodes are electrically connected to a differential amplifier. A layer of energy filter material is applied over the continuous electrode. This layer is transparent to all energy outside of a desired energy frequency band to which the device is to be sensitive but absorbs and converts to heat all energy applied which is within this band. This heat is conducted quickly into the pyroelectric material which produces a voltage change in the output from the corresponding electrodes. By positioning the device at the focal point of a concave mirror, the output from the electrodes can be used to energize an alarm signal or the magnitude and frequency of the output of the device can indicate the size and movement of an energy source such as a human body. A novel method of making the device is included which facilitates the fabrication and reduces handling problems and costs.

摘要: Methods, systems, and devices are described for providing a communication system for handling pulse information. Embodiments of the invention provide a pulse shaping unit operable to avoid saturation of the pulse transformer, while being easily incorporated into IC processes. Some embodiments of the pulse shaping unit provide a two-to-three level driver unit for converting a two-level input voltage signal to a three-level driver signal for driving a pulse transformer. Other embodiments of the pulse shaping unit provide components configured to differentially drive a pulse transformer, effectively converting a two-level input voltage signal to a three-level driver signal.

摘要: A junction device driver is provided that includes a current regulator, an inductor coupled with the current regulator, and a switching module coupled with the inductor. The current regulator is configured to generate a current, and the inductor is configured to store energy generated by the current produced by the current regulator. The switching module is configured to control a conduction current for a gate of a junction device. The conduction current is generated, initially, from the stored energy of the inductor to thereby provide a relatively high initial current. As the energy stored in the inductor is discharged, the current level drops to a lower level that is sufficient to maintain the junction device in an “on” state.

摘要: A method for beautification of an uninhabited or condemned building in an urban area utilizing camouflage sheeting placed over sealing materials (such as plywood) which have been secured across door and window penetrations to prevent egress by unauthorized persons. The camouflage depicts a realistic rendering of an external door, or a view through a window to the interior of a room, making it appear to a casual external observer that proper doors and windows are in place. The rendering may be made of UV-resistant coloring and covered with UV-resistant laminate. The camouflage sheeting may be made from paper, plastic or fabric and is sized to suit its respective opening and may be adhered to said egress-preventing materials or to the edges of said penetrations. The disclosed method of urban beautification is an economical solution to the loss of aesthetics caused by the boarding up of abandoned or condemned housing.

摘要: A method and apparatus for making a self-sealable packaging, and the self-sealable packaging and method of use are disclosed. The apparatus includes dispensing a web and converting it by folding or by welding two webs together to provide upper and lower layers defining a pocket therebetween. A line of weakness is provided in an extension on the lower web, and a release liner is positioned over the line of weakness in spanning relationship, with a pattern of adhesive applied between the release liner and the extension below the line of weakness. The release liner is secured to the extension above the line of weakness, and the web is sealed along side boundaries and separated therealong to provide individual bags. The pocket of the bag is sized to receive an article, such as a newspaper therein. After insertion of the newspaper, the extension is separated along the line of weakness to provide a flap carrying the adhesive. The flap is folded over the opening of the pocket to adhesively secure the newspaper therein.
