The present invention relates to air conditioning systems, and more particularly, to an air conditioning system which can control a refrigerant flow rate to a heat exchanger exchanging heat with room air to be optimum; and a method for controlling the same. The air conditioning system includes an outdoor heat exchange part including a compressor for compressing refrigerant, an outdoor heat exchanger for making the refrigerant to heat exchange with outdoor air, and an expansion device for expanding the refrigerant, an indoor heat exchange part including a pump for making refrigerant in a flow path independent from the outdoor heat exchange part to flow, at least one indoor heat exchanger for making the refrigerant heat exchange with room air, and a flow rate control device for controlling a flow rate of the refrigerant, and a hybrid heat exchange part for making the outdoor heat exchange part and the indoor heat exchange part, which are independent from each other, to heat exchange with each other. According to this, the air conditioning system can be installed on a multistory building without limitation of a height of the building as far as a capacity of the pump permits. Moreover, even if a refrigerant pipe is long, the air conditioning system is applicable even to a system with a refrigerant pipe line longer than the related art as far as the capacity of the pump permits, and fine control of a room air temperature is possible.

The hybrid generation system can maximize operation efficiency of a generator by selectively supplying normal utility power or power, which is generated by the generator, based on a power level supplied to a load. A hybrid generation system includes a generator and a generator controller. The generator generates power, and the generator controller performs a control activity to supply one of the normal utility power and the generated power to the load. The selective supply of the normal utility power or the generated power can maximize efficiency of the generator and as a result, a power consumption level of the hybrid generation system can be decreased, thereby reducing related costs.

A cogeneration system according to the present invention includes a waste heat supply heat exchanger that supplies waste heat, which is recovered from an engine, to a suction unit side of a compressor. Accordingly, the present invention is advantageous in that it can maximize the use efficiency of the waste heat. Furthermore, a low compression inverter type compressor having a compression ratio of 1.5 to 2.5, which is lower than that of the related art, is used. Therefore, the present invention is advantageous in that it can maximize the efficiency of the system since the waste heat supplied from the waste heat supply heat exchanger can be utilized to a greater extent. The present invention is also advantageous in that it can prevent damage to the compressor and can save consumption power since a difference in pressure between the suction and discharge units of the compressor becomes small.
