摘要： A touch module and a touch display apparatus are provided. The touch module includes an image capturing unit, a distance detection unit, and a calculation unit. The image capturing unit determines a touch angle according to a captured detection image. The distance detection unit includes a detection signal generator and a receiver. The detection signal generator supplies a scattered detection signal. The receiver receives the reflected detection signal and determines a first touch distance according to the detection signal. The calculation unit is coupled to the image capturing unit and the distance detection unit. The calculation unit calculates a touch position according to the touch angle and the first touch distance.

摘要： A touch display apparatus including a display unit, a light confinement element, at least one light emitting device, and at least one optical detector is provided. The light confinement element is disposed beside the display unit, and has first and second total internal reflection (TIR) surfaces, and a light incident surface connecting the first and second TIR surfaces. The light emitting device is disposed beside the light incident surface and capable of emitting a light beam which enters the light confinement element through the light incident surface. The first and second TIR surfaces are capable of repeatedly totally reflecting the light beam in the light confinement element, for confining the light beam between the first and second TIR surfaces. When a touch object contacts the first TIR surface, the TIR effect is spoiled, and the touch object reflects a part of the light beam to the optical detector.

The light source device includes a current source unit generating a driving current, a plurality of light emitting units coupled in series to the current source unit, a plurality of current shunts corresponding to the light emitting units respectively and providing current bypasses for the driving current to bypass the corresponding light emitting units, a plurality of light sensing units sensing the brightness of the light emitting units, and a control unit generating a plurality of current shunt control signals for separately controlling the current shunts. Each of the current shunt control signals is generated according to the sensed brightness of the corresponding light emitting unit and is used in controlling the conduction statement of the current bypass provided by the corresponding current shunt.

The optical sensor is capable of sensing a brightness of the display area when the side of the casing faces the display area and sensing a brightness of an ambient light when the side of the casing doesn't face the display area.
