Abstract:
An auto-injector demonstration device for simulating the delivery of medication has an elongated body encompassing a needle guard member with locking slots circumscribing a transparent window member having stop elements. A plunger, electronically controlled by a transmission motor, has bump-out elements. In use, the needle guard member is pressed against the injection site to actuate the transmission motor. This moves the plunger through the window member to simulate the medication delivery. When the plunger reaches its terminal position, the bump-out elements compel the stop elements on the window member outward. When the user allows the needle guard member to ease back into the original extended position, the stop elements will engage with the locking slots through the needle guard member to lock and prevent the needle guard from retracting into the window member.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay device with an increased range of sensitivity without an increase in the clearance time or the occurrence of false positive results. The indicator reagent for the analyte is located in both a separate labeling reagent region and a discrete zone of the analyte detection region.
Abstract:
An automatic charging system for parking vehicles comprises a controller, at least one parking charge unit, and other peripherals. The controller comprises an image identifier for identifying images for fining license plate and identifying characters of the license plates; a ticket processing unit for deciding parking time periods of vehicles, calculating charges for the parking time periods; a data transfer unit for receiving and transferring all data about the system; and an accounting unit for calculating the charge fees. Each parking unit is connected to the controller and comprises a camera for capturing images having the license plates of vehicles; a detector for detecting positioning of cars; and a printer for printing tickets. The peripheral includes a memory for recording all the data of the system; and a timer for determining the entering and leaving times of a vehicle for determining the parking time period of a vehicle.
Abstract:
A method to determine the presence or absence of Streptococcus Group A antigen in a sample, comprising the following steps: extracting the antigen from the sample in an assay chamber with two or less extraction reagents, wherein the two reagents may be added to the assay chamber in no particular sequence; introducing a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay device into the extraction reagents containing the extracted antigen without further addition of reagents or manipulation of the sample; forming an antigen-indicator labeling reagent complex; and determining the presence or absence of the antigen in the sample by the presence or absence of a signal formed by the binding of the antigen-indicator labeling reagent complex to an indicator capture reagent specific for said antigen-indicator labeling reagent complex.
Abstract:
The invention disclosed herein relates to the field of one-step assays and latex agglutination tests ("LAT"), and provides an improved method of preparing and using a one-step immunoassay, as well as improved methods of preparing coated latex particles for use in diagnostic assays, and especially, immunochromatographic assays.
Abstract:
A door retaining device includes a hook member, a housing, a latch rotatably attached to the housing, and a rotating device for rotating the latch relative to the housing to actuate the latch to selectively engage with the hook member and to stably anchor and secure the hook member to the housing when the hook member is moved toward and depressed against the housing, or to selectively disengage the latch from the hook member and to position the latch in disengagement from the hook member when the hook member is moved toward and depressed against the housing again. A stem is slidably received in the housing and coupled to the latch for rotating the latch when the stem is slid and moved relative to the housing.
Abstract:
A hanging device includes a base support member having one or more openings and one or more notches and a depression communicating with each other, and an attachment includes a shank for engaging into the opening of the base support member, and includes one or more protrusions laterally extended from the shank, for engaging into the notches and then into the depression of the base support member by rotating the attachment relative to the base support member, for detachably locking the attachment to the base support member. The base support member includes a cavity, and the attachment includes one or more projections for engaging into the cavity of the base support member, and for detachably locking the attachment to the base support member.

Abstract:
A high-speed out-of-band signalling technique for transferring information such as station status information between stations in a communication network, typically a local-area network, involves sequentially generating a plurality of n-bit sequence segments, where n is at least 3. Each bit is either a first binary value or a second binary value. Each sequence segment is coded with one of a plurality of different n-bit code groups divided into a first code group and a set of second code groups. The n bits in the first code group are all the first binary value--e.g., all "1s". None of the second code groups contain a pair of non-contiguous bits of the second binary value--e.g., none of the second code groups contains two "0s" separated by at least one other bit. The sequence segments are outputted in the order that they were generated to produce a special bit sequence which carries the desired information. The station status information typically includes configuration capability, flow control parameters, and integrity control parameters.
