摘要:
Biodegradable laminates including biodegradable polymers have oxygen and moisture barrier properties. The oxygen and moisture barrier layers are biodegradable. If the barrier layers have poor adhesion, degradable tie layers can be included to improve adhesion. Combination of laminate structures can be formed to increase the overall oxygen and moisture barrier characteristics. The biodegradable laminates can be formed by extrusion.
摘要:
There is disclosed a biodegradable laminate suitable for use in shaped paper-based articles such as containers for liquid or solid, hot or cool, food products, comprising a paper-based substrate having first and second copolyester layers deposited onto at least one surface of the substrate, in the substantial absence of intervening polymer layers between the substrate surface and the copolyesters deposited on the substrate surface. A biodegradable shaped article formed from the laminate and a method for forming a biodegradable laminate are also disclosed.
摘要:
Laminate structures provide an oxygen barrier for use in packaging of liquid and non-liquid (dry) products: preferably, fruits, citrus juices, teas, other beverages, and the like. The laminate structures contain at least one oxygen barrier layer of a partially aromatic nylon. Particularly useful partially aromatic nylons are those utilizing MXD6/MXDI chemistry. The partially aromatic nylon layer provides an oxygen barrier comparable to ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) when used at high relative humidities. The partially aromatic nylon layer simplifies laminate structure and saves materials costs.

A container is disclosed which includes a housing having an inner chamber and a hinge allowing the housing to open and close. Contained at least partially within the housing is a pouch for holding a substance and a fitment attached thereto for accessing the substance. Additionally, a hinged cap is also included for selectively accessing and sealing the substance held within the pouch.
摘要:
A paperboard laminate comprising a paperboard substrate, having an interior surface and an exterior surface, a layer of high density polyethylene on the interior surface of the paperboard substrate, a tie layer interior to the high density polyethylene layer, a barrier layer interior to the high density polyethylene layer, a second tie layer interior to the barrier layer, and a polyolefin layer interior to the second tie layer. The laminate is useful for packaging dry food products such as ready-to-eat cereals, powdered drink mixes, baking goods, and non-food products such as dry laundry detergent, fertilizer pellets, and powdered air fresheners.
